4. Using the radio and setting the frequency:
A. Using the main switch (18) and the volume
control (21): First, ensure that the main switch
(18) is in the 'ON' position. Now turn the volume
control (21) a little, until noise or music can be
heard coming from the speaker. The volume can
be set to the desired level or the radio can be
turned off by turning the volume control (21).
B. Setting the frequency band: Change between
FM and AM by pressing the Band button (9).
C. Setting the station frequency:
Turn the frequency selector (16) to set the desired
frequency. The current setting can be seen on the
display (10). Turn the dial (16) until the reception of
the desired station is optimal.
D. Using the antenna (15):
a) The radio is equipped with a telescoping antenna
(15) for better reception of the FM frequencies.
Should the signal be too weak, the antenna (15)
can be extended in order to increase the recep-
tion. In addition, the direction of the antenna can be
changed, which may also improve the reception.
b) A ferrite rod antenna is also built into the unit in
order to be able to receive AM frequencies. Where
the signal is weak, it is recommended that the radio
be placed in another location.
Caution:
a) Adjusting the volume to an appropriate level is
recommended. Please consider your environment
and be mindful of others nearby.
b) High buildings, cellars and other obstacles may
inhibit the reception of the radio signal. Whenever
possible, stay clear of induction cookers, fluores-
cent lamps, motors and other electrical equipment,
as these can also affect the reception.
5. Setting the time and the alarm:
A. Setting the time
To set the hours or minutes for the clock as desired,
hold the Time Set button (4) and then simultane-
ously press the Hours (6) or Minutes (7) button. Af-
ter setting the time, simply release the buttons and
the time displayed will continue to run with your set-
