Gazer video interface is a device that allows displaying various video signals on the stock head unit screen without impairing the performance
and functionality of the OEM multimedia system. Gazer video interface supports Plug&Play (jack-to-jack) connection making it unnecessary to
modify the vehicle’s stock wiring.
With Gazer video interface, one can stream video from the following devices:
General information
After the video interface is installed, the vehicle’s stock multimedia system continues operating in its default mode. To switch the multimedia
system from the default mode to the video interface display mode, follow the steps below:
after you start the engine, wait until the multimedia system boots up completely;
press the ON button to turn on the video interface;
if you press the ON button again, the multimedia system will switch back to the default mode.
When the video interface is connected, one can control the navigation system using the built-in touch screen of the stock multimedia system.
If the stock multimedia system does not have a touch screen, one can install an optional touch panel with direct connection to the video
interface. Optionally, one can control the system with a USB mouse or keyboard.
Caution! Once the optional touch panel is installed, touch controls will be available only in the video interface display mode. In the
default mode, all the original functions of the stock multimedia system will remain intact.

Mounting and connection
Installation tips
Before installing the video interface, please disconnect “-” terminal from the car battery.
To install the interface, use only the cables that come in the package.
Make sure that there are no electronic devices or magnets near the central unit mounting location.
To install and connect the video interface without voiding your vehicle warranty, please contact an authorized service station.
After receiving the product, check the contents of the delivery package against specications. Contact the vendor if you nd that some
component or part is missing.
The warranty does not cover the damage caused by improper handling of the product by the user, installation company or service station.
The manufacturer reserves the right to modify the design and conguration of the product without prior notice to the user.
Video interface connection
For the video interface to display image, one needs to connect it directly to the built-in screen of the stock multimedia system.
The following video output connection options are available:
Plug&Play connection to LVDS cable between the stock multimedia system and the monitor;
Board-insertion connection to the video cable of the stock multimedia system screen.
Note: No matter which connection option you choose, the video interface will be connected as a Plug&Play device (jack-to-jack
connection) without damaging the stock wiring. There is also no need to modify the stock cables and jacks.
Caution! For board-insertion connection, one needs to disassemble the stock multimedia system.

ENG
Mounting and connection
Audio connection
(for Gazer VI700A-XXX/Gazer VI700W-XXX/Gazer VC700-XXX only).
3. Speaker connection.
Depending on the car model and specic video interface application (e.g., only for navigation and rear-view camera display), one can
connect the audio output of the video interface directly to one of the vehicle’s speakers by using “Speaker I/O” output. When this type of
connection is used, during navigation voice prompts or any other alerts, the sound in one of the speakers will be toned down.
1. Bluetooth connection in audio transmission mode
(only for Gazer VI700A-XXX).
Use Bluetooth to connect the stock multimedia system to the video interface. Then select “Only audio” in the video interface Bluetooth
settings. This will ensure that Hands Free function operates correctly when a mobile device is connected to the stock multimedia system:
when the engine is running and all equipment is fully operational, the mobile device and the video interface will be connected to the
multimedia system simultaneously. In this case, the mobile device will operate in Hands Free mode, while the video interface will switch to
audio playback or voice prompts mode (used for navigation).
2. AUX input connection.
Connect the audio output of the video interface (AUX jack) to AUX jack of the stock multimedia system.
Note: There are several ways of arranging audio playback when connecting Gazer car video interface. The available audio playback
option depends on the car model (for an optimal audio playback option for your car model, please refer to the user manual for the Gazer
video interface model you have purchased).
Caution! Depending on the car model, one may have to reconnect AUX jacks on every boot of the multimedia system. In this case,
after each reconnection, select «AUX» in audio source selection menu of the stock multimedia system.
Recommendation: When it is impossible to connect the audio output of the video interface using the methods described above, one
can plug an external standalone speaker (comes in the package) directly into the video interface. This method will ensure excellent
sound quality and smooth playback of audio alerts, e.g. when the navigation system is used.

Usage
Camera image output
For seamless integration with rear / front view cameras, the video interface has the following features:
automatic switching to the rear view camera mode when the vehicle shifts into reverse gear.
Depending on the car and head unit model, the video interface supports:
Intelligent Parking Assist System (IPAS) function - when connected to a vehicle, the device monitors the position of the front wheels and
draws dynamic guide lines reproducing the vehicle’s trajectory over the video feed from the rear view camera.
parking sensor data output function (PDC function). Data provided by the stock parking assist system will be displayed together with the
video feed from the rear view camera.
Touch panel calibration
(for Gazer VI700A-XXX/Gazer VI700W-XXX only).
One needs to calibrate the touch panel to ensure its correct operation. Calibration menu pops up automatically when you switch on the video
interface for the rst time. To calibrate the touch panel, tap the icons appearing on the screen as accurately as possible. Once the calibration
procedure is complete, press Android logo (for Gazer VI700A-XXX model) or OK button (for Gazer VI700W-XXX model).
Caution! If the SD card slot is empty or DIP switch No.6 is set to «On», the touch panel calibration procedure will have to be repeated
on every startup.

Usage
Video interface modes control
Depending on the car model, the video signal source for the monitor is selected by pressing “Navi”/”Mute”/”Voice”/”Traff, etc. buttons on
the stock multimedia system control panel or on the steering wheel. If this is impossible, the source of the signal can be selected by pressing
the external remote button (comes in the package) designed for switching between video interface modes.
One can either cycle or ip through the available signal sources. Let us take Gazer VI700A-XXX video interface as an example. If switches No.
2 (AV1) and No. 3 (AV2) are activated and the mode switching button is pressed, the multimedia system will display the video signal sources
in the following succession:
Normal mode (default) – Android – AV1 input – AV2 input – Normal mode (default).
Recommendation: If there are unused signal sources it is recommended to disable them by means of DIP switches on the video
interface enclosure. Otherwise, a black screen will be displayed instead of AV1 and AV2 signals.
Caution! The video interface supports these applications only if all folders and .exe les are properly named.
USB-hub connection
Gazer VI700A-XXX/Gazer VI700W-XXX video interfaces support USB-hubs that can be used to
connect several USB devices simultaneously, e.g. a USB 3G modem, USB drives with media
content, or additional control devices* (computer mouse and keyboard).
*For Gazer VI700A-XXX only.
Gazer VI700A-XXX apps
Gazer VI700W-XXX video interface comes with a 16 GB Gazer micro SDHC memory card
(optional) with preinstalled licensed Navitel Navigator, Yandex.Maps, as well as special software
for managing external devices (a 3G modem or an Android device with MHL).
