! CAUTION
Please take note of the following important points when
installing.
Do not install the unit where leakage of flammable
gas may occur.
If gas leaks and accumulates around the unit, it
may cause fire ignition.
Ensure that drainage piping is connected properly.
If the drainage piping is not connected properly, it
may cause water leakage which will dampen the
furniture.
Do not overcharge the unit.
This unit is factory pre-charged.
Overcharge will cause over-current or damage to
the compressor.
Ensure that the unit’s panel is closed after service or
installation.
Unsecured panels will cause the unit to operate
noisily.
Sharp edges and coil surfaces are potential locations
which may cause injury hazards.
Avoid from being in contact with these places.
Before turning off the power supply, set the remote
controller’s ON/OFF switch to the “OFF” position
to prevent the nuisance tripping of the unit. If this is
not done, the unit’s fans will start turning automatically
when power resumes, posing a hazard to service
personnel or the user.
Do not operate any heating apparatus too close to
the air conditioner unit. This may cause the plastic
panel to melt or deform as a result of the excessive heat.
Ensure the color of wires of the outdoor unit and the
terminal markings are same to the indoors
respectively.
IMPORTANT : DO NOT INSTALL OR USE THE
AIR CONDITIONER UNIT IN A LAUNDRY
ROOM.
Don’t use joined and twisted wires for incoming
power supply.
! WARNING
Installation and maintenance should be performed by
qualified persons who are familiar with local code and
regulation, and experienced with this type of appliance.
All field wiring must be installed in accordance with
the national wiring regulation.
Ensure that the rated voltage of the unit corresponds to
that of the name plate before commencing wiring work
according to the wiring diagram.
The unit must be GROUNDED to prevent possible
hazard due to insulation failure.
All electrical wiring must not touch the refrigerant
piping, or any moving parts of the fan motors.
Confirm that the unit has been switched OFF before
installing or servicing the unit.
Disconnect from the main power supply before
servicing the air conditioner unit.
DO NOT pull out the power cord when the power is
ON. This may cause serious electrical shocks which
may result in fire hazards.
Keep the indoor and outdoor units, power cable and
transmission wiring, at least 1m from TVs and radios,
to prevent distorted pictures and static. {Depending on
the type and source of the electrical waves, static may
be heard even when more than 1m away}.
SAFETY PRECAUTIONS
This manual provides the procedures of installation to ensure a safe and good standard of operation for the air
conditioner unit.
Special adjustment may be necessary to suit local requirements.
Before using your air conditioner, please read this instruction manual carefully and keep it for future reference.

ensuring this product is disposed of correctly, you will help to prevent potential negative consequences for

Preliminary Site Survey
Electrical supply and installation is to conform to local
authority’s (e.g. National Electrical Board) codes and
regulations.
Voltage supply fluctuation must not exceed ±10% of
rated voltage. Electricity supply lines must be
independent of welding transformer which can cause
high supply fluctuations.
Ensure that the location is convenient for wiring, piping
and drainage.
Standard Mounting
Ensure that the overhead supports are strong enough to hold the
weight of the unit. Position the hanger rods (wall mounting
bracket for floor standing), and check for its alignment with the
unit as shown in Figure A. Also, check that the hangers are
secured and the base of the fan coil unit is leveled in both
horizontal directions, taking into account the gradient for
drainage flow as recommended in Figure B.

Please ensure that the following steps are taken:
Check the gradient for drainage flow as recommended in Figure B.
Provide clearance for easy servicing and optimal air flow as shown in Figure C.
The indoor unit must be installed such that there is no short circuit of the cool discharge air with the warm return air.
Do not install the indoor unit where there is direct sunlight shining on the unit. The location should be suitable for piping
and drainage installation. The unit must be a large distance away from the door.

Install Suspension Bolts
1. Install the suspension bolts so that it can support the
indoor unit.
2. Adjust distance to ceiling before installation.
3. Refer to dimension given to install the unit.

1. Insert the suspension bolts into the fittings of the hanger
bracket.
2. Set the nuts and washer on both side of the metal fittings.
3. Secure it with nuts.

Installation - Ceiling Exposed Type
Step 1
Remove air intake grille, side panel and hanger bracket from the unit. Please refer to Fig F.
Step 2
Position the hanger rod as shown in Fig G and install the hanger bracket.

REFRIGERANT PIPING
When the pipe length becomes too long, both the capacity and reliability drop. As the number of bends increases, system
piping resistance to the refrigerant flow increases, thus lowering the cooling capacity, and as the result the front compressor
may become defective. Always choose the shortest path and follow the recommendation as tabulated below:
Piping Sizes (Flare Connection Type)
Piping sizes are as follows:
Do not use contaminated or damaged copper tubing. If
any piping, evaporator or condenser had been exposed or
had been opened for 15 seconds or more, then vacuum
and purge with field supplied refrigerant. Generally do not
remove plastic, rubber plug and brass nuts from the valves,
fittings, tubing and coils until it is ready to connect suction
or liquid line into valves or fittings.
If any brazing work is required, ensure that nitrogen gas is
passed through coil and joints while the brazing work is
being done. This will eliminate soot formation on the inside
wall of copper tubings.
Cut the pipe stages by stages, advancing the blade of pipe
cutter slowly. Extra force and a deep cut will cause more
distortion of pipe and therefore extra burr.
Remove burrs from cut edges of pipes with a remover.
This will avoid unevenness on the flare face which will
cause gas leak.
Align the center of the piping and sufficiently tighten the
flare nut with fingers. Finally, tighten the flare nut with
torque wrench until the wrench clicks.
Be sure to execute heat insulation (polyurethane form with
thickness more than 15 mm).
Except the outdoor unit which is pre-charge with refrigerant
R22, the indoor unit and the refrigerant connection pipes
must be purged because the air that contain moisture
remaining in the refrigerant cycle may cause malfunction
to the compressor.

Align the center of the piping and tighten the flare nut
sufficiently with fingers.
Finally, tighten the flare nut with torque wrench until
the wrench clicks.
When tightening the flare nut with torque wrench, ensure
the direction for tightening follows the arrow on the
wrench.

All wires must be firmly connected.
Make sure all the wire not touching the refrigerant piping, compressor or any moving parts of the fan motor.
The connecting wire between the indoor unit and the outdoor unit must be clamped on the wire clamps.
The power supply cord must be equivalent to H07RN-F (245 IEC65, 245 IEC66) which is the minimum requirement.
When attaching the terminal box lid, make sure do not pinch any wires.
After all the wiring connections are done, fill in any gaps/holes with insulation (procured locally) to prevent small animals
and insects entering the unit from outside.
Use round crimp-style terminal for connecting wires to the power supply terminal block. Connect the wires by matching to
the indication on terminal block. (Refer to the wiring diagram attached on the unit).

VACUUMING AND CHARGING
Purging The Piping And The Indoor Unit
Except for the outdoor unit which is pre-charged with
refrigerant, the indoor unit and the refrigerant connection
pipes must be air-purged because the air containing
moisture that remains in the refrigerant cycle may cause
malfunction of the compressor.
Remove the caps from the valve and the service port.
Connect the center of the charging gauge to the vacuum
pump.
Connect the charging gauge to the service port of the
3-way valve.
Start the vacuum pump. Evacuate for approximately 30
minutes. The evacuation time varies with different
vacuum pump capacity. Confirm that the charging gauge
needle has moved towards -76mmHg (0~76mmHg).
Vacuuming is necessary to eliminate all moisture and air
from the system. The series II Outdoor Unit is provided with
flare valve fittings.

Vacuuming for indoor unit
Before vacuuming, perform leak check for refrigeration
circuit. After the system piping are properly connected,
connect the flexible hoses to the correct charging nipples as
shown in the diagram. Ensure that flexible hose from
charging nipples are connected to the vacuum pump via
standard servicing valves and pressure gauges (gauge
manifold). Vacuum the air conditioner system to at least 500
microns Hg. Do not start the unit when the system is engaged
in vacuuming. The outdoor is pre-charge.
Caution
If the gauge needle does not move to 0~76mmHg, be
sure to check for gas leaks (using the refrigerant
detector) at flare type connection of the indoor and
outdoor unit and repair the leak before proceeding to
the next step.
Close the valve of the changing gauge and stop the
vacuum pump.
On the outdoor unit, open the suction valve (3 way) and
liquid valve (2 way) (in anti-clockwise direction) with
4mm key for hexagon sacked screw.
Step to connect the installation wire:
Used the correct screwdriver for tightening the terminal screws. If the block is too small, the mad of the screw might be
damaged and the screw will not be properly tightened. If tightening too hard, screw might be damaged.
Do not connect wire at different gauge to the same proper supply terminal.
Use specified electric wire. Connect the wire securely to the terminal. Lock the wire down without applying excessive
force to the terminal.
Keep wiring in mat order and not to obstruct other equipment such as popping open the terminal box lid.

Charge Operation
This operation must be done by using a gas cylinder and a precise weighing machine. The additional charge is topped-up
into the outdoor unit using the suction valve via the service port.
Remove the service port cap.
Connect the low pressure side of the charging gauge to the suction service port center of the cylinder tank and close the
high pressure side of the gauge. Purge the air from the service hose.
Start the air conditioner unit.
Open the gas cylinder and low pressure charging valve.
When the required refrigerant quantity is pumped into the unit, close the low pressure side and the gas cylinder valve.
Disconnect the service hose from service port. Put back the service port cap.

The refrigerant is pre-charge in the outdoor unit. If the piping length is less than 7.5m, then additional charge after vacuuming
is not necessary. If the piping length is more than 7.5m then use the additional charge value as indicated in the table.

Maintenance Procedures
1. Remove any dust adhering to the filter by using a vacuum
cleaner or wash in lukewarm water (below 40°C) with a
neutral cleaning detergent.
2. Rinse the filter well and dry before placing it back onto
the unit.
3. Do not use gasoline, volatile substances or chemicals to
clean the filter.
1. Clean any dirt or dust on the grille or panel by wiping it
with a soft cloth soaked in lukewarm water (below 40°C)
and a neutral detergent solution.

Causes / Action
- Protection against frequent starting. Wait for 3 to 4
minutes for the compressor to start operating.
- Power failure, or the fuse need to be replaced.
- The power plug is disconnected.
- It is possible that your delay timer has been set
incorrectly.
- If the fault persist after all these verifications, please
contact the air conditioner unit installer.
- The air filter is dirty.
- The doors or windows are open.
- The air suction and discharge are clogged.
- The regulated temperature is not high enough.
- Odors may be caused by cigarettes, smoke particles,
perfume etc. which might have adhered onto the coil.
- This is caused by air humidity after an extended long
period of operation.
- The set temperature is too low, increase the temperature
setting and operate the unit at high fan speed.
- Switch off unit and call dealer.
- Refrigerant fluid flowing into the evaporator coil.
Fault
1. The compressor does not operate
3 minutes after the air conditioner unit is started.
2. The air conditioner unit does not operate.
3. The air flow is too low.
4. Discharge air flow has bad odor.
5. Condensation on the front air grille of the indoor
unit.
6. Water flowing out from the air conditioner unit.
7. Hissing air flow sound from the air conditioner
unit during operation.
If any malfunction of the air conditioner unit is noted, immediately switch off the power supply to the unit. Check the
following fault conditions and causes for some simple troubleshooting tips.

! AVERTISSEMENT
Vérifier les points suivants au cours de l’installation.
Ne pas installer l’appareil où il peut se produire des
fuites de gaz inflammable.
En cas de fuite et accumulation de gaz autour de
l’appareil, il y a risque d’incendie.
S’assurer que le tuyau d’évacuation du condensat
est correctement branché.
Si le tuyau d’évacuation n’est pas correctement
branché, les éventuelles fuites d’eau risquent de
mouiller le mobilier.
Ne pas surcharger l’unité (en fluide frigorigène).
Cet appareil est préchargé en usine. Une charge
trop importante risque de provoquer une surcharge
électrique ou d’endommager le compresseur.
S’assurer que le panneau supérieur de l’appareil est
remis en place après l’installation ou l’entretien.
Avec un panneau mal fixé l’appareil va fonctionner
bruyamment.
Les bords coupants et les surfaces du refroidisseur
tuulaire présentent un risque de blessure.
Mieux vaut éviter le contact avec ces endroits.
Avant de couper l’alimentation électrique, veiller à
ce que l’interrupteur ON/OFF de la télécommande
soit en position “OFF” afin d’éviter une mise en
marche intempestive de l’appareil. Si l’interrupteur
de la télécommande n’est pas en position “OFF”, les
ventilateurs de l’appareil se mettront en marche dès que
l’alimentation électrique est rétablie. Il peut en résulter
un danger pour le personnel d’entretien ou l’utilisateur.
Ne pas utiliser d’appareil de chauffage trop près du
climatiseur. Une chaleur excessive peut déformer ou
faire fondre le boîtier de plastic.
S’assurer que la couleur des câbles de l’unité
extérieure et les marquages de bornes sont identiques
à ceux de l’unité intérieure.
IMPORTANT : NE PAS INSTALLER OU
UTILISER LE CLIMATISEUR DANS UNE
BUANDERIE.
N’utilisez pas de câbles joints et torsadés pour
l’alimentation électrique entrante.
! ATTENTION
L’installation et la maintenance doivent être exécutées
par une personne qualifiée qui est familiarisée avec les
lois et réglementations en vigueur, et aussi
expérimentée dans ce type d’équipements.
Tous les câblages doivent répondre aux réglementations
électriques nationales.
Avant de commencer le raccordement suivant le schéma
électrique, s’assurer que la tension nominale de
l’appareil corresponde bien à celle indiquée sur la
plaque signalétique.
L unité doit être raccordée à la TERRE pour prévenir
tous les risques possibles dûes à un défaut d’isolation.
Les fils électriques ne doivent en aucun cas être en
contact avec les tuyaux de réfrigérant ou les parties
mobiles des moteurs du ventilateur.
Avant l’installation ou l’entretien du climatiseur,
s’assurer que l’appareil est éteint (OFF).
Débrancher l’appareil du circuit d’alimentation secteur
avant de procéder à l’entretien du climatiseur.
NE PAS retirer le câble d’alimentation électrique de la
prise quand l’appareil est sous branché. Il peut en
résulter des décharges électriques importantes
susceptibles de provoquer un incendie.
Les unités intérieures et extérieures, le cordon
d’alimentation et le câblage de transmission doivent
rester à une distance d’au moins 1 m des téléviseurs et
des radios, ce afin d’éviter les images déformées et les
parasites. {En fonction du type et de la source des ondes
électriques, des parasites peuvent être entendus même
avec une distance supérieure à 1 m}.
