Oven accessories such as baking sheets,
will also become hot, therefore care should
be taken when removing these items from
the drawer whilst the oven is in use or still
hot.
Only heat-resistant plates may be placed
in the drawer situated under the oven. Do
not put combustible materials there.
Never use steam or high pressure steam
cleaners to clean the appliance.
Do not use harsh abrasive cleaners or
sharp metal scraper to clean the oven door

splashes of oil or fat, when it is open. Do not
use it for any other purpose.
Always wipe off any splash of liquid before
opening the lid.
Always clean the lid from cooking residue
before opening it or taking it off.
Warning! The glass lid may shatter
when heated. Turn off all the burners
before shutting the lid.
Use only pans or pots with flat bottom.
Warning! If you use a saucepan which
is smaller than the recommended size,
the flame will spread beyond the bottom
of the pan, causing the handle to
overheat.
As soon as a liquid starts boiling, turn
down the flame so that it will barely keep
the liquid simmering.

Helpful hints and tips
Using the gas hob
Start your cooking with a big flame by turning
the knob to the symbol . Then adjust the
flame as necessary.
The outside of the flame is much hotter than
its inside (nucleus). Accordingly , the top of
the flame should lick the bottom of the pan.
Excessive flames mean a waste of gas.
In contrast with electric grids, gas burners do
not require flat-bottomed pans: the flames
lick the bottom and spread the heat all over
the surface.
No special pans are required for gas
burners. However, thin walled pans
transmit the heat to the food more quick-
ly than thick-walled ones.
Since heat doesn't spread evenly on the
pan's bottom, the food may only be partially
heated. Consequently it is advisable to stir
the food many times.
A thick pan bottom prevents partial over-
heating as it allows sufficient thermic com-
pensation.
Avoid very small pans. Wide and shallow
pans are more suitable than narrow and
deep ones as they allow a faster heating.
Cooking is not quickened by placing narrow
pans on wide burners. The result is just a
waste of gas. For a proper usage, place small
pans on small burners and large pans on
large burners.
Remember to cover pans to reduce gas
consumption.
Pottery
Remember that a wide-bottomed pan
allows a faster cooking than a narrow
one.
Always use pots which properly fit what
you have to cook.
Particularly make sure that the pans are
not too small for liquids, since these
could easily overflow.
Moreover, the pans should not be too large
for a faster cooking. In fact, grease and juices
may spread on the bottom and burn easily.
It is better to use non open able moulds for
baking cakes. In fact, an open able mould
lets juices and sugar leak through, falling on
the bottom of the oven and consequently
burning on the bottom of the baking tray,
making cleaning difficult.
Warning! Avoid putting plastic-handled
pans in the oven as they are not heat-
proof.
You should use pans with the right diameter
to fit the burner, in order to make the most
out of it, thus reducing gas consumption.
It is also advisable to cover any boiling cas-
serole and, as soon as the liquid starts boil-
ing, lower the flame enough to keep the boil-
ing point.
Using the oven
Warning! Always cook with the oven
door closed. Stand clear when opening
the drop down oven door. Do not allow
it to fall open - support the door using
the door handle, until it is fully open.
To open the oven door, always hold the
handle in the centre.
The oven has four shelf levels. The shelf po-
sitions are counted from the bottom of the
oven as shown in the diagram.

It is important that the oven accessories
are correctly positioned.
Warning! Do not place cookware
directly on the oven base.
Warning! When cooking with the oven
or grilling, the cover must be kept open
to avoid overheating.
Warning! Do not place objects and
cookware directly on the oven base and
do not cover any part of the oven with
aluminium foil while cooking, as this
could cause a heat buildup which would
affect the baking results and damage the
oven enamel. Always place pans, heat-
resisting pans and aluminium trays on
the shelf.
Condensation and steam
The oven is supplied with an exclusive sys-
tem which produces a natural circulation of
air and the constant recycling of steam. This
system makes it possible to cook in a steamy
environment and keep the dishes soft inside
and crusty outside. Moreover, the cooking
time and energy consumption are reduced to
a minimum. During cooking steam may be
produced which can be released when
opening the oven door. This is absolutely
normal.
Warning! Always stand back from the
oven when opening the oven door
during cooking or at the end of it to allow
any build up of steam or heat to release.
When food is heated, it produces steam
in the same way as a boiling kettle does.
When steam comes in contact of the
oven door glass, it will condense and
produce water droplets.
To reduce condensation, ensure the oven is
well heated before placing food in the oven
cavity. A short oven pre-heating (about 10
minutes) will then be necessary before any
cooking. We recommend you to wipe away
condensation after each use of the appli-
ance.
Cookware
Use any oven proof cookware which will
withstand temperatures of 230
°
C.
Baking trays, oven dishes, etc. should not
be placed directly against the grid covering
the fan at the back of the oven, or placed
on the oven base.
Do not use baking trays larger than 30 cm
- 35 cm (12 in - 14 in) as they will restrict
the circulation of heat and may affect per-
formance.
The effects of dishes on cooking results
Dishes and tins vary in their thickness, con-
ductivity, colour, etc. which affects the way
they transmit heat to the food inside them.
A: Aluminium, earthenware, oven glassware
and bright shiny utensils reduce cooking and
base browning.
B: Enamelled cast iron, anodized aluminium,
aluminium with nonstick interior and col-
oured exterior and dark, heavy utensils in-
crease cooking and base browning.
Cooking fish and meat
You can place meat in oven proof dishes, or
directly on the oven shelf. In this case, re-
member to place the drip tray in the first po-
sition from the bottom with some water in it.
The dripping pan will avoid the falling of mel-
ted fat on the oven base.
White meat, poultry and fish in general, need
to be cooked at a medium temperature (be-
tween 150
°
C and 175
°
C). If you need to
cook red meat (slightly browned on the out-
side and more gently cooked in the inside), a
higher temperature (between 200
°
C and
230
°
C) for a short time is recommended.
Baking
Cakes usually need to be cooked at a medi-
um temperature (between 150
°
C and 200
°
C).
electrolux 11
A short oven pre-heating (about 10 minutes)
is recommended when cooking cakes or
baking. Once the cooking has been started,
keep the oven door closed during all the
cooking time, and check the cooking results
through the oven door glass.
Grilling
If you need to grill meat or fish, place them
directly on the shelf after spreading a little oil
on them.
In the grill function, heat comes only from the
top element. Therefore, you need to adjust
the cooking level depending on meat or fish's
thickness.
Always remember to place the dripping pan
in the lower position with some water in it.
Cooking times
Cooking times vary according to the type of
food to be cooked, its consistency, and vol-
ume. We suggest that you take particular
note of your first cooking experiments with
the oven, since operating in the same con-
ditions for the same dishes you will of course
obtain similar results.
Only experience will enable you to make the
appropriate changes to values given on
charts.
Cooking table
These tables are intended as a guide only. It
may be necessary to increase or decrease
the temperature to suit your individual re-
quirements. Only experience will enable you
to determine the correct setting for your per-
sonal requirements.
Cooking times do not include pre-heat-
ing time. A short oven pre-heating (about
10 minutes) is necessary before any
cooking.

Care and cleaning
Warning! Before any maintenance or
cleaning can be carried out, you must
DISCONNECT the appliance from the
electricity supply. This appliance cannot
be cleaned with steam or with a steam
cleaning machine.
Cleaning the hob - the hob top
The hob is best cleaned whilst it is still warm,
as spillage can be removed more easily than
if it is left to cool.
Regularly wipe over the hob top using a soft
cloth well wrung out in warm water to which
a little washing up liquid has been added.
Avoid the use of the following:
household detergent and bleaches;
impregnated pads unsuitable for non stick
saucepans;
steel wool pads;
bath/sink stain removers.
Should the hob top become heavily soiled, it
is recommended that a cleaning product
such as Hob Brite or Bar Keepers Friend is
used.
Pan supports
The pan supports are dishwasher proof. If
washing them by hand, take care when dry-
ing them as the enamelling process occa-
sionally leaves rough edges. If necessary, re-
move stubborn stains using a paste cleaner.
The burners
The burner caps and crowns can be re-
moved for cleaning.
Wash the burner caps and crowns using hot
soapy water, and remove marks with a mild
paste cleaner. A well moistened soap im-
pregnated steel wool pad can be used with
caution, if the marks are particularly difficult
to remove.
After cleaning, be sure to wipe dry with a soft
cloth.
Ignition electrode
The electric ignition is obtained through a ce-
ramic "electrode" with a metal electrode in-
side. Keep these components well clean, to
avoid difficult lighting, and check that the
burner crown holes are not obstructed.

Cleaning the oven
Warning! The oven should be kept
clean at all times. A build up of fats or
other foodstuffs could result in a fire,
especially in the grill pan.
Clean carefully the oven cavity after use when
it is still warm. In fact, at this moment it is easy
to take off deposits of fat or other substances
such as fruit juice, sugar particles or fat.
You can use warm detergent water or one of
the appropriate spray oven cleaners.
Warning! Do not direct the spray at the
mat steel parts as this could damage
them and always follow the
manufacturer’s instructions.
Clean the oven accessories with warm water
and detergent. Remove possible incrusta-
tions with a slightly abrasive powder.
Warning! Never line any part of the oven
with aluminium foil. It would result in an
accumulation of heat which might
damage the cooking results and also
damage the enamel.
Cleaning materials
Before using any cleaning materials on your
oven, check that they are suitable and that
their use is recommended by the manufac-
turer.
Cleaners that contain bleach should NOT be
used as they may dull the surface finishes.
Harsh abrasive should also be avoided.
Warning! Never use steam or steam
machines to clean the appliance.
External cleaning
Warning! Regularly wipe over the
control panel, oven door and door seal
using a soft cloth well wrung out in warm
water to which a little washing up liquid
has been added.
To prevent damaging or weakening the
door glass panels avoid the use of the
following:
Household detergent and bleaches
Impregnated pads unsuitable for non stick
saucepans
Pads or steel wool pads
Chemical oven pads or aerosols
Rust removers
Bath/Sink stain removers
Clean the outer and inner door glass using
warm soapy water. Should the inner door
glass become heavily soiled it is recommen-
ded that a cleaning product such as Hob
Brite, or Bar Keepers Friend is used.
Cleaning the oven door
Before cleaning the oven door, we rec-
ommend you to remove it from the oven.
Warning! Before proceeding ensure the
oven is cool and disconnected from the
electricity supply.
Proceed as follows:
1. open the oven door completely
2. find the hinges linking the door to the
oven
3. unlock and turn the small levers located
on the two hinges
4. handle the door by its left- and right-hand
sides, then slowly turn it towards the oven
until it is half closed
14 electrolux
5. gently pull the oven door off its site
6. place it on a steady plan.
Important! Clean the oven door glass with
warm soapy water and a soft cloth only.
Never use harsh abrasive.
Once the cleaning is carried out, refit the
oven door, following the procedure in re-
verse.
Warning! Do not clean the oven door
while the glass panels are warm. If this
precaution is not observed the glass
panel may shatter.
If the door glass panel becomes chipped
or has deep scratches, the glass will be
weakened and must be replaced to pre-
vent the possibility of the panel shatter-
ing. Contact your local Service Centre
who will be pleased to advise further.
Models in stainless steel or aluminium
We recommend to clean the oven door using
only a wet sponge and dry it up after cleaning
with a soft cloth.
Never use steel wool, acids or abrasive prod-
ucts as they can damage the oven surface.
Clean the oven control panel following the
same precautions.
The correct operation of the oven is ensured
by a gasket placed round the edge of the
oven cavity.
Periodically check the condition of this gas-
ket. If necessary, clean it without using abra-
sive cleaning products.
If the gasket shows to be damaged, call you
local Service Centre. Do not use the oven
until it has been repaired.
Oven shelves
Warning! Before proceeding ensure the
oven is cool and disconnected from the
electricity supply.
To clean the oven shelves, soak in warm
soapy water and remove stubborn marks
with a well wetted soap impregnated pad.
Rinse well and dry with a soft cloth.
Lid cleaning
The glass lid can be disassembled to allow a
better cleaning.
Clean the glass lid only with warm water and
avoid the use of rough cloths or abrasive
substances.
After a proper cleaning, carefully reposition
the lid into its hinges.
Balancing the lid
Appliances provided with glass lids are
equipped with specially balanced springs, in-
serted in the hinges at the back of the appli-
ance, to allow the lid to be closed smoothly
and easily.
You can use a screwdriver to adjust the clo-
sure of the lid. The necessary force for open-
ing/closing the lid can be increased by turn-
ing the adjusting screw 2 or 3 times as
shown .

of installation, regulation, and service are
executed according to the existing regula-
tions.
Whenever changes are made involving the
disconnection of the appliance it is necessary
to proceed with maximum caution.
Warning! Prior to installation, ensure
that the local distribution conditions
(nature of the gas and the gas pressure)
and the adjustment of the appliance are
compatible.
Warning! The manufacturing company
declines any responsibility for possible
damages resulting from an installation
which does not comply with the rules in
force.
Positioning

wall/furniture (if present) directly above
should be minimum 650 mm.
Levelling
The appliance is provided with adjustable
small feet placed in the back and front cor-
ners on the base.
By adjusting the small feet it is possible to
change the height of the appliance so as to
ensure a better levelling with other surfaces
and a uniform distribution of the liquids con-
tained in pans or pots.
Gas connection
Warning! The use of a gas cooking
appliance results in the production of
heat and moisture in the room in which
it is installed. Ensure that the kitchen is
well ventilated. Keep natural ventilation
holes open or install a mechanical
ventilation device (mechanical extractor
hood).
Prolonged intensive use of the appliance
may call for additional ventilation, for ex-
ample opening of a window, or more ef-
fective ventilation, for example increas-
ing the level of mechanical ventilation, if
present.
Gas connection must be carried out accord-
ing to the rules in force. The manufacturing
company release the unit, once tested, ad-
justed for the kind of gas stated on the rating
plate located on the back of the range, next
to connection pipe. Be sure that you are go-
ing to connect the unit to the same kind of
gas written on the plate.
Installation environment
Warning! This appliance is not
connected to a combustion products
evacuation device. It shall be installed
and connected in accordance with
current installation regulations.
Particular attention shall be given to the
relevant requirements regarding
ventilation.
In order to make the gas unit work properly,
it is necessary that air sufficient to gas com-
bustion can naturally flow in the room. (The
installer must follow the rules in force).
The air flow into the room must come directly
through openings of external walls. These
openings (or opening) should be realized in
such a way not to be occluded both from in-
side and outside.
Installation and maintenance must be carried
out by a qualified technician, in compliance
with rules in force.
The electric connection must be carried out
in compliance rules in force.
Important! Our responsibility will not be
involved in case of accidents caused by a
defective or non existent earth connection.
Combustion products discharge
Gas cooking units must discharge combus-
tion products through hoods directly con-
nected to flues or outside.
Connection using a rigid pipe or a
flexible metal pipe
To ensure higher safety, it is recommended
to carry out the connection to the gas system
using rigid pipes (ex. copper) or using flexible
stainless steel pipes, to avoid any stress to
the unit. Gas feeding pipe fitting is Gc 1/2.
For this type of installation, connection to the
gas supply should be carried out using only
and exclusively flexible metallic tubes in con-
formity with rules in force.
electrolux 19
Connection using flexible non metal
pipes
When the connection can be easily inspec-
ted in its full extent, there is the chance to use
a flexible pipe according to the rules in force.
The flexible pipe must be tightly fixed using
clamps according to the rules in force.
The flexible pipe should be made ready for
use in such a way that:
nowhere it can reach over temperature,
other than room temperature, higher than
30
°
C; if the flexible pipe, to reach the cock,
must run behind the range, it must be in-
stalled as shown below;
it is no longer than 1500 mm;
it shows no throttles;
it is not subject to traction or torsion;
it does not get in touch with cutting edges
or corners;
it can be easily inspected in order to check
its condition.
The control of preservation of the flexible pipe
consists in checking that:
it doesn't show cracks, cuts, marks of
burning both on the end parts and on its
full extent;
the material is not hardened, but shows its
normal elasticity;
the fastening clamps are not rusted;
expiry term is not due. If one or more ab-
normalities are seen, do not repair the
pipe, but replace it.
it cannot come into contact with moveable
parts of the appliance;
it does not pass through any space sus-
ceptible of becoming congested;
Important! Once installation is complete,
check the perfect seal of every pipe fitting,
using a soapy solution, never a flame.
