Safety Notes

General Power Tool Safety Warnings

WARN I N G Read all safety warn-

ings and all instructions.

Failure to follow the warnings and instructions

may result in electric shock, ﬁ re and/or seri-

ous injury.

Save all warnings and instructions for future

reference.

The term “power tool” in the warnings refers

to your mainsoperated (corded) power tool or

battery-operated (cordless) power tool.

Work area safety

► Keep work area clean and well lit.Cluttered

or dark areas invile accidents.

► Do not operate power tools in explosive

atmospheres. such as in the presence of

flammable liquids, gases or dust. Power

tools create sparks which may ignile the

dust or fumes.

► Keep children and bystanders a way while

operating a power tool. Distractions can

cause you to lose control.

Electrical safety

►Power tool plugs must match the out-

let. Never modify the plug in any way. Do

not use any adapter plugs with earthed

(grounded) power tools. Unmodiﬁ ed plugs

and matching outlets will reduce risk of

electric shock.

► Avoid body contact with earthed or ground-

ed surfaces, such as pipes, radiators,

ranges and refrigerators. There is an in-

creased risk of electric shock if your body

is earthed or grounded.

► Do not expose power tools to rain or wet

conditions. Water entering a power tool will

increase the risk of electric shock.

► Do not abuse the cord. Never use the

cord for carrying, pulling or unplugging the

power tool. Keep cord away from heat, oil,

sharp edges and moving parts. Damaged

or entangled cords increase the risk of

electric shock.

► When operating a power tool outdoors,

use an extension cord suitable for outdoor

use. Use of a cord suitable for outdoor use

reduces the risk of electric shock.

► If operating a power tool in a damp loca-

tion is unavoidable, use a residual current

device (RCD) protected supply. Use of an

RCD reduces the risk of electric shock.

Personal safety

► Stay alert, watch what you are doing and

use common sense when operating a

power tool. Do not use a power tool while

you are tired or under the influence of

drugs, alcohol or medication. A moment

of inattention while operating power tools

may result in serious personal injury.

► Use personal protective equipment. Al-

ways wear eye protection. Protective

equipment such as a dust mask, non-skid

safety shoes, hard hat or hearing protec-

tion used for appropriate conditions will

reduce personal injuries.

► Prevent unintentional starting. Ensure the

switch is in the oﬀ -position before connect-

ing to power source and/or battery pack,

picking up or carrying the tool.Carrying

power tools with your ﬁ nger on the switch

or energising power tools that have the

switch on invites accidents.

► Remove any adjusting key or wrench be-

fore turning the power tool on. A wrench or

a key left attached to a rotating part of the

power tool may result in personal injury.

► Do not overreach. Keep proper footing and

balance at all times. This enables better

control of the power tool in unexpected sit-

uations.

► Dress properly. Do not wear loose clothing

or jewellery. Keep your hair, clothing and

gloves away from moving parts. Loose

clothes, jewellery or long hair can be

caught in moving parts.

► If devices are provided for the connection

of dust extraction and collection facilities,

ensure these are connected and properly

used. Use of dust collection can reduce

dust-related hazards.

► Do not let familiarity gained from frequent

use of tools allow you to become compla-

cent and ignore tool safety principles. A

careless action can cause severe injury

within a fraction of a second.

Power tool use and care

► Do not force the power tool. Use the cor-

rect power tool for your application. The

correct power tool will do the job better and

safer at the rate for which it was designed.

► Do not use the power tool if the switch

does not turn it on and oﬀ . Any power tool

that cannot be controlled with the switch is

dangerous and must be repaired.

► Disconnect the plug from the power source

and/or the battery pack from the power tool

before making any adjustments ,changing

accessories, or storing power tools. Such

preventive safety measures reduce the

risk of starting the power tool accidentally .

► Store idle power tools out of the reach of

children and do not allow persons unfamil-

iar with the power tool or these instructions

to operate the power tool. Power tools are

dangerous in the hands of untrained users.

► Maintain power tools. Check for misalign-

ment or binding of moving parts, breakage

of parts and any other condition that may

affect the power tool’s operation. If dam-

aged, have the power tool repaired before

use. Many accidents are caused by poorly

maintained power tools.

► Keep cutting tools sharp and clean. Prop-

erly maintained cutting tools with sharp

cutting edges are less likely to bind and

are easier to control.

► Use the power tool, accessories and tool

bits etc. in accordance with these instruc-

tions, taking into account the working con-

ditions and the work to be performed. Use

of the power tool for operations different

from those intended could result in a haz-

ardous situation.

► Keep handles and grasping surfaces dry,

clean and free from oil and grease. Slip-

pery handles and grasping surfaces do not

allow for safe handling and control of the

tool in unexpected situations.

Service

► Have your power tool serviced by a qual-

iﬁ ed repair person using only identical re-

placement parts. This will ensure that the

safety of the power tool is maintained.

Battey tool use and care

► Recharge only with the charger specified

by themanufacture.A chage that is suitable

for one type of battery pack may create a

risk of ﬁ re when used with another battery

pack.

► Use power tools only with speciﬁ cally des-

ignated battery packs. Use of any other

battery packs may ceate a risk of injury

and ﬁ re.

► When battery pack is not in use, keep it

away from other metal objects, like paper

clips, coins, keys, nails,screws or other

small metal objects, that can make a

connection from one terminal to anothe.

Shorting the battery terminals together

may cause burns or a ﬁ re.

► Under abusive conditions, liquid may be

ejected fom the battery; avoid contact.

If contact accidentally occurs, flush with

water. If liquid contacts eyes,additionally

seek medical help. Liquid ejected from the

battery may cause iritation or buns.

► Contact o inhalation of dust generated

when working with the sander may be

harmful or toxic and can endanger the

health of the operator and bystanders.

► Never use the sander on asbestos, paint-

ed surfaces that contain lead, or woods

and metals which when sanded can create

harmful or toxic dust. Risk of poisoning

and dust- related hazards.

► Always wear personal protective equip-

ment when using the sander, or if you are

in the vicinity of someone using the sand-

er. Protective equipment such as safety

glasses, eye shields, or goggles, and a

dust mask will reduce personal injuries.

Nb. Everyday eyeglasses have only im-

pact-resistant lenes; they are not safety

glasses.

► Do not allow people to enter the woking

area without wearing a dust mask.

► Use clamps or another practical way to se-

cure and support the workpiece to a stable

platform. Holding the work by you hand

or against the body leaves it unstable and

may lead to loss of control.

► Your sander is a handheld tool, do not

clamp in a ﬁ xed position.

► Where possible, seal oﬀ the working area

to contain the dust for later removal.

► If operating the sander in a workshop en-

sure that a suitable dust extraction system

is available and functioning correctly to

reduce the exposure to wood dust to as

low as is’reasonably practicable’. Dust

extaction systems will reduce dust- related

hazards.

► Your tool is designed for dry sanding only,

not wetsanding. Failure to follow this rule

may result inelectical shock.

► Do not sand magnesium material due to

the risk of ﬁ re.

► Only use sanding paper in good condition.

Do not use torn or worn sanding paper.

► Before sanding, check the area is free of

nails, screws,etc.

► Never stop the sander by applying a force

to the baseplate.

► Never sweep up or use compressed ail-

ines as this will disturb the dust and allow

it to become inhaled. Always clean up us-

ing a vacuum cleaner suitable for ﬁ ne dust

particles. A suitable vacuum cleaner will

reduce dustrelated hazards.

► Never eat, drink or smoke at the wokplace.

Risk of dust-related hazards.

► Never use a sander whilst barefoot or

wearing sandals.Risk of injury-related haz-

ards.

Safety warnings battery pack

► Do not dismantle, open or shred cells or

battery pack.

► Do not short-circuit a battery pack. Do not

store battery packs haphazardly in a box

or drawer where they may short-circuit

each other be short-circuited by conduc-

tive materials. When battery pack is not in

use, keep it away from other metal objects,

like paper clips,coins, keys, nails, screws

or othe small metal objects, that can make

a connection from one terminal to another.

Avoid storage in direct sunlight.

► Do not subject battery pack to mechanical

shock.

► In the event of battery leaking, do not allow

the liquid to come into contact with the skin

or eyes. If contact has been made, wash

the aﬀ ected area with copious amounts of

water and seek medical advice.

► Seek medical advice immediately if a cell

or battery pack has been swallowed.

► Keep battery pack clean and dry.

► Wipe the battery pack terminals with a

clean dry cloth if they become dirty.

► Battery pack needs to be charged before

use.Always refer to this user guide and

use the correct charging procedure.

► Do not maintain battery pack on charge

when not in use.

► After extended periods of storage, it may

be necessary to charge and discharge the

battery pack several times to obtain max

imum performance.

► Battery pack gives its best performance

when it is operated at normal room tem-

perature (20°c ± 5°c).

► When disposing of battery packs, keep

battery packs of different electrochemical

systems separate from each other.

► Recharge only with the charge speciﬁ ed by

manufacturer. Do not use any charge other

than that speciﬁ cally povided for use with

the equipment. A charger that is suitable

for one type of battery pack may create a

risk of ﬁ re when used with another battery

pack.

► Do not use any battery pack which is not

designed for use with the equipment.

► Keep battery pack out of the reach of chil-

dren.

► Retain this user guide for future reference.

► Remove the battery from the equipment

when not in use.

► This appliance can only be used by

childen aged from 8 years and above and

persons with reduced physical, sensory or

mental capabilities or lack of experience

and knowledge if they have been given

supervision or instruction concerning use

of the appliance in a safe way and under-

stand the hazards involved. Children shall

not play with the appliance. Cleaning and

use maintenance shall not be made by

child en without supervision. If the supply

cord is damaged, it must be replaced by

the manufacturer, its service agent or sim-

ilarly qualiﬁ ed persons in order to avoid a

hazard.

► Before charging, read the instructions.

► Afte charging, disconnect the battery char

ger from the supply mains. Then emove

the chassis connection and then the battey

connection.

► Do not charge a leaking battery.

► Do not use chargers for works other than

those to which they are designed.

► Before charging, ensure charger matches

the local AC supply.

► For indoor use, do not expose to ain.

► The charging device must be protected

from moisture.

► Do not use the charging device in the

open.

► Do not short out the contacts of battery or

charge .

vertical sufaces in such a way that the dust

collector points downwads.

► Excessive pressure does not result in

geater sanding perfomance, instead it

causes geater wear on the product and

sanding sheet.

and sanding disc mustMatch. Press the

sanding disc onto the sanding disc by

hand.Fimly pess the power tool with the

sanding sheet against a Flat surface and

bieﬂ y switch the powetool on. This povides

Fogood adhesion and prevents pematue

wear.Before placing the sanding disc,fee

the sanding pad from Dust/debis by lightly

tapping against it.

Removing the sanding disc

► To remove, simply peel the sanding disc

away from the sanding pad.

Using the removable dust bag

(See ﬁ g. C)

► Your sander is equipped with a removable

dust bag ,which is designed for almost

dust free working. Insert the removable

dust bag into the dust extraction prot of the

sander . Then pull the removable dust bag

to make sure it is Tightened securely to the

dust outlet [see ﬁ g. C].

Emptying the removable dust bag

► For more efficient operation, empty dust

bag, every 5-10mins. This will permit the

air to ﬂ ow through the bag better .

► To empty, pull the removable dust bag

► Respect the polarity”+/-”when charging.

► Do not open the unit and keep out of the

reach of children.

► Do not charge the batteries of othe manu-

factures or ill-suited models.

► Ensure that the connection between the

battery charge and battery is correctly po-

sitioned and is not obstructed by foreign

bodies.

► Check battery charger’s slots are free of

foreign objects and protect against dirt and

humidity. Store in a dry and frost-fee place.

► When charging batteries, ensure that the

battery charge is in a well-ventilated area

and away fom inﬂ ammable materials. Bat-

teries can get hot during charging.Do not

overcharge batteries. Ensure that batteries

and charges are not left unsupervised du

ing charging.

► Do not recharge non- rechargeable batte

ies, as they can overheat and break.

► Longer life and better performance can

be obtained if the battery pack is charged

when the air temperature is between 18°C

and 24°C. Do not charge the battery pack

in air temperatures below 4°C, or above

40°C.This is important as it can prevent

serious damag to the battery pack.

► Charge only battery packs of the same

model provided by manufacturer and of

models recommended by manufacturer .

Intended use

► This tool is intended to dry sanding of

wood, plastic,ﬁ ller and coated surfaces.

Assembly

► Remove the battery pack from the pow-

er tool before making any adjustments,

changing accessories, or storing power

tools.

Selecting the right sanding disc

► Selecting the correct grit of sandpaper is

an important decision to achieve the best

quality sanding ﬁ nish.

► Coase grit will remove the most mateial

and ﬁ ner grit will give you the best ﬁ nish in

all sanding operations.The condition of the

suface to be sanded will detemine which

git will do the job.

► If the suface is rough, start with coarse grit

and sand until the suface is uniform. Use

a medium grit to remove any scratches left

tape to prevent short circuit and energy

discharge. Do not attempt to open or re-

move any of the components.

Overload protection

► When overloaded, the motor comes to a

stop. Relieve the load on the tool immedi-

ately and release the on/oﬀ switch. Restart

the tool as no mal.

Temperature dependent oveload

protection

► When used as intended the power tool

cannot be subject to overload. When the

load is too high or the allowable battery

temperature is too hot, the electronic con-

trol switches off the power tool until the

temperature is in the optimumtemperature

range again.

Protection against deep discharg-

ing

► The li-ion battery is protected against deep

discharging by the “discharging protection

system”. When the battery is empty, the

tool is switched oﬀ by means of a protec-

tive circuit. The andom orbital sander will

no longer rotate.Remove the battery and

echarge.

Useful tips

► Your sander is ideal for working on wood,

metals and painted surfaces. It will smooth

surfaces prior to painting,even where ﬁ llers

have been used and left proud.

► You sander is best suited to large ﬂ at ar-

eas such as doors but can also be used

on skirting boards, windows,etc, provided

they are accessible.

► Diﬀ erent types of sanding paper will allow

the sander to meet various needs. Diﬀ er-

ent grades of sanding paper are available,

the higher grade number, the ﬁ ne the grit.

For rough work start with a low grade of

grit [e.g. 60 Grit] and changer to a higher,

ﬁ ner gader [e.g. 100 or 120] for ﬁ nishing. If

you use a ﬁ ner grade fo rough surfaces it

will soon clog and need changing.

► Let the sander do the work at all times. Do

not force it or apply excessive pressure

to the sanding paper or it could winkle or

tear .

► If the surface shows excessive markings

from the abrasive motion, you may be us-

ing a grit which is too coarse or applying

too much pressure.

Dust extaction port

► A vacuum hose can be connected to the

dust extaction port for cleaner cutting

operations. The vacuum cleane must be

suitable for the material being worked on.

On/oﬀ switch (see ﬁ g. D)

► To start your sander , depress the protec-

tive cover over the switch at the position

marked’’I”. To stop your sander , depress

the protective cover at the position marked

“O”.

Using the sander (see ﬁ g. E)

► The workpiece to be sanded must be se-

cured.

► Be sure to hold the sander firmly while it

is on and apply it gently to the work, as it

may “kick”’on ﬁ st contact. Hold the sander

so that it is ﬂ at on the workpiece and move

in long,sweeping strokes across the sur-

face. Let the sander do the work. Applying

excessive pessure will slow the sander

and produce unsatisfactory results. Light

pressure is all that is needed for sanding,

polishing, or scrubbing. Regularly check

the condition of the sanding paper and re-

place it when worn for best results.

► Check you work often as this sander re-

moves material quickly. Do not allow your

sander to remain in the same position oth-

erwise, you will remove too much material

and create an uneven surface.

Disposal of an exhausted battery

pack

► Olympia tools provides a facility for the

collection and recycling of rechargeable li-

ion batteries once they have reached the

end of thei working life. To dispose of you

battery please return to any olympia tools

stockist who will collect them on our be-

half. Alternatively consult your local waste

authority for information regarding avail-

able recycling and/or disposal options. It

will then be ecycled or dismantled in orde

to reduce the impact on the environment

► Discharge you battery pack by operating

your random orbital sander , then remove

the battery pack fom the andom orbital

sander housing and cove the battery pack

TROUBLE SHOOTING

If the sander does not remove material

rapidly?

► Check the sanding sheet. If the sanding

sheet is worn, replace with a new sheet

and try again. The sheet must be kept

in a dry place, if it is allowed to become

damp, the abrasive particles will lose their

adhesion to the backing paper and will not

remove material rapidly.

If the sander does not move smoothly?

► The sanding sheet may be loose, dam-

aged o wrinkled.Replace and try again.

If a fault can not be rectiﬁ ed?

► Return the sander to an authorised dealer

for repair .

Reasons for diﬀ erent battery pack working

times?

► Prolonged storage of a battery pack

without use will reduce the battery pack

working time. This can be corrected after

several charge and discharge operations

by charging and working with you random

orbital sander . Heavy working conditions

such as large screws into hard wood will

use up the battery pack energy faster than

lighter working conditions.Do not re-charge

you battery pack below 0°c and above 45

as this will aﬀ ect performance.

Maintenance

► Your tool requires no additional lubrication

or maintenance.There are no user service-

able parts in you power tool.

► Neve use water or chemical cleaners to

clean your power tool. Wipe clean with a

dry cloth.

► Always store your power tool in a dry

place.

► Keep the motor ventilation slots clean.

Keep all working contols free of dust.

► Occasionally you may see sparks through

the ventilation slots.This is normal and will

not damage your power tool.

Disposal

Packaging materials

► Dispose of in an environmentally friendly

way by adding to you recyclable waste bin,

or by taking it to a public collection centre.

Electrical products

► Waste electrical products should not be

disposed of with household waste. Please

recycle where facilities exist.

► Check with you local authority or retailer

for recycling advice.

Batteries

► Olympia tools provides a facility for the

collection and recycling of rechargeable li-

ion batteries once they have eached the

end of their working life. To dispose of you

battery please return to any olympia tools

stockist who will collect on our behalf. Alte-

natively consultr you local waste authoity

for infomation regarding available ecycling

and/or disposal options. Your battery will

then be recycled or dismantled in order

to reduce the impact on the environment.

► The process fo shipping li-ion batteries can

be diﬃ cult.

► There are many regulations you need to

adhere to, and speciﬁ c packaging and la-

belling instuctions you need to follow when

sending li-ion batteries by ground or air via

a third party[aifeight, courie, etc.]

► Ensure you take account of un3481 reg-

ulations and any more detailed national

regulations. If in doubt, contact the service

provide you have chosen to ship your li-ion

batteries consult an expert fo hazadous

material.

in its associated device

terminals with tape

Safety Warnings for Sander

►Only use the power tool for dry sand-

ing. Water entering a power tool will in-

crease the risk of electric shock.

►Ensure that no persons are at risk due

to flying sparks. Remove combustible

materials from the surrounding area.

Flying sparks are created when sanding

metals.

►Warning: Danger of fire! Avoid over-

heating the workpiece and the sander.

Always empty the dust collector before

taking a break from work.Sanding dust

in the dust bag, microﬁ lter, paper bag (or

in the filter bag or vacuum cleaner filter)

can spontaneously combust under certain

conditions, for example if ﬂ ying sparks are

created when sanding metals. This risk is

increased if the sanding dust is mixed with

paint or polyurethane residue or with other

chemical substances and if the workpiece

is hot as a result of prolonged work.

►Clean the air vents on your power tool

regularly.The motor’s fan will draw the

dust inside the housing and excessive ac-

cumulation of powdered metal may cause

electrical hazards.

►Hold the power tool firmly with both

hands and make sure you have a stable

footing. The power tool can be more se-

curely guided with both hands.

►Always wait until the power tool has

come to a complete stop before placing

it down.

►Secure the workpiece.A workpiece

clamped with clamping devices or in a vice

is held more secure than by hand.

Assembly

► Pull the plug out of the socket before car-

rying out any work on the power tool.

Changing the sanding sheet (see ﬁ gure A)

Remove dirt and dust from the sanding pad,

e.g. with a paintbrush, before attaching a new

The surface of the sanding pad is ﬁ tted with

a hook-andloop fastening, allowing sanding

sheets with a similar backing to be secured

quickly and easily.

Cordless Random Orbital Sander

Press the sanding sheet firmly onto the un-

derside of the sanding pad.

To ensure optimum dust extraction, make

sure that the punched holes in the sanding

sheet are aligned with the drilled holes in the

sanding pad.

Selection of the Sanding Plate

The power tool can be fitted with sanding

pads of various hardnesses, depending on

the application:

– Extra soft sanding pad: Suitable for

polishing and sensitive sanding even on

curved surfaces.

– Soft sanding pad: Suitable for all sanding

work, universal application.

– Hard sanding pad: Suitable for heavy

sanding on ﬂ at surfaces.

Changing the sanding pad (see ﬁ gure B)

Note: Replace damaged sanding pads imme-

diately.

Remove the sanding sheet or polishing tool.

Unscrew the screw completely and remove

the sanding pad. Attach the new sanding

pad and retighten the screw so that it is fin-

ger-tight.

Note: Pads with diameters of 150 mm and

125 mm have diﬀ erent carriers. The pads can

only be ﬁ tted to the right power tool.

Note: When attaching the sanding pad, make

sure that the teeth of the catch mate with the

recesses in the sanding pad.

Note: Damaged sanding pads must only be

replaced by an after-sales service centre au-

thorised to work with P.I.T. power tools.

Dust/chip extraction

The dust from materials such as lead paint,

some types of wood, minerals and metal can

be harmful to human health.

Touching or breathing in this dust can trigger

allergic reactions and/or cause respiratory

illnesses in the user or in people in the near

vicinity.

Certain dusts, such as oak or beech dust,

are classified as carcinogenic, especially in

conjunction with wood treatment additives

(chromate, wood preservative). Materials con-

taining asbestos may only be machined by

specialists.

– Use a dust extraction system that is suit-

able for the material wherever possible.

– Provide good ventilation at the work-

place.

– It is advisable to wear a P2 filter class

breathing mask.

The regulations on the material being ma-

chined that apply in the country of use must

be observed.

►Avoid dust accumulation at the work-

place. Dust can easily ignite.

External dust extraction (see ﬁ gure C)

Attach the dust extraction adapter to the

extraction outlet. Make sure that the locking

levers of the dust extraction adapter lock into

place.

The dust extractor must be suitable for the

material being worked.

When extracting dry dust that is especially

detrimental to health or carcinogenic, use a

special dust extractor.

When working on vertical surfaces, hold the

power tool with the dust extraction hose fac-

ing downwards.

Operation

Starting Operation

► Pay attention to the mains voltage. The

voltage of the power source must match

the voltage speciﬁ ed on the rating plate of

the power tool. Power tools marked with

230 V can also be operated with 220 V.

Switching On and Oﬀ

► Make sure that you are able to press the

On/Oﬀ switch without releasing the handle.

To switch on the power tool, press and hold

the on/oﬀ switch.

To lock the on/off switch press and hold it

while also pushing the lock-on button.

To switch oﬀ the power tool, release the on/oﬀ

switch. If the on/oﬀ switch is locked, press the

switch ﬁ rst and then release it.

Preselecting the orbital stroke rate

You can even preselect the orbital stroke rate

during operation using the necessary orbital

stroke rate preselection thumbwheel.

The required orbital stroke rate is dependent

on the material and the work conditions and

can be determined using practical tests.

The Constant Electronic keeps the orbital

stroke rate at no load and under load virtually

consistent, guaranteeing uniform perfor-

mance.

After working at a low orbital stoke rate for

an extended period, you should operate the

power tool at the maximum orbital stroke rate

for approximately three minutes without load

to cool it down.

Sanding Plate Brake

An integrated sanding pad brake reduces the

orbital stroke rate when running without load

to prevent scoring when the power tool is

placed on the workpiece.

If the no-load orbital stroke rate constantly in-

creases over time, this means that the sand-

ing pad is damaged and must be replaced,

or that the sanding pad brake is worn. A worn

sanding pad brake must be replaced by an

after-sales service centre authorised to work

with P.I.T. power tools.

Working Advice

► Pull the plug out of the socket before car-

rying out any work on the power tool.

► Always wait until the power tool has come

to a complete stop before placing it down.

► This power tool is not suitable for

bench-mounted use. It must not be

clamped into a vice or fastened to a work-

bench, for example.

Sanding Surfaces

Switch the power tool on, place the entire

sanding surface against the surface of the

workpiece and apply moderate pressure as

you move the sander over the workpiece.

The material removal rate and sanding result

are primarily determined by the choice of

sanding sheet, the preselected orbital stroke

rate level and the contact pressure.

Only immaculate sanding sheets achieve

good sanding performance and make the

power tool last longer.

Be sure to apply consistent contact pressure

in order to increase the lifetime of the sanding

sheets.

Excessively increasing the contact pressure

will not lead to increased sanding perfor-

mance, rather it will cause more severe wear

of the power tool and of the sanding sheet.

Do not use a sanding sheet for other materi-

als after it has been used to work on metal.

Use only original P.I.T.-sanding accessories.

Rough Sanding

Attach a coarse grit sanding sheet.

Apply only light pressure to the power tool so

that it runs at a higher orbital stroke rate and

a higher material removal rate is achieved.

Fine Sanding

Attach a ﬁ ne grit sanding sheet.

You can reduce the sanding plate orbital

stroke rate by lightly varying the contact pres-

sure or changing the orbital stroke rate level;

the random orbit motion will be retained.

Move the power tool with moderate pressure

flat on the workpiece in a circular motion or

alternately along and across it. Do not tilt the

power tool in order to avoid sanding through

the workpiece, e.g. veneers.

Switch the power tool oﬀ after completing op-

eration.

Polishing

For polishing weathered lacquers and re-

dressing scratches (e.g. acrylic glass), the

power tool can be fitted with an appropriate

polishing tool, e.g. lambswool bonnet, polish-

ing felt or polishing sponge (accessory).

Select a low orbital stroke rate (level 1–2)

when polishing in order to avoid heating up

the surface excessively.

Apply the polish to an area slightly smaller

than the area which you intend to polish. Us-

ing the appropriate polishing tool, work in the

polish with either linear or circular movements

and with moderate pressure.

Do not allow the polish to dry out on the sur-

face; this may damage the surface. Do not

expose the surface which you intend to polish

to direct sunlight.

Clean the polishing tool regularly to ensure

good polishing results. Wash the polishing

tools with mild detergent and warm water; do

not use thinning agents.

► Pull the plug out of the socket before car-

► To ensure safe and efficient operation,

always keep the power tool and the venti-

lation slots clean.

In order to avoid safety hazards, if the power

supply cord needs to be replaced, this must

be done by P.I.T. or by an after-sales service

centre that is authorised to repair P.I.T. power

tools.

Transportation of the power tools

► Categorically not to drop any mechanical

impact on the packaging during transport.

► When unloading / loading is not allowed to

use any kind of technology that works on

the principle of clamping packaging.

Dispose of waste

Damaged power tools, batteries, acces-

sories and waste packaging materials must

be recycled and reused in an environmentally

friendly manner.

Do not throw power tools and accumulators /

batteries into general household waste!

TERMS OF WARRANTY SERVICE

1. This Warranty Certiﬁ cate is the only docu-

ment that conﬁ rms your right to free warranty

service. Without presenting this certiﬁ cate, no

claims are accepted. In case of loss or dam-

age, the warranty certiﬁ cate is not restored.

2. The warranty period for the electric ma-

chine is 12 months from the date of sale,

during the warranty period the service depart-

ment eliminates manufacturing defects and

replaces parts that have failed due to the fault

of the manufacturer free of charge. In the war-

ranty repair, an equivalent operable product

is not provided. Replaceable parts become

property of service providers.

P.I.T is not liable for any damage that may be

caused by operation of the electric machine.

3. Only clean tool accompanied with the

following duly executed documents: this War-

ranty Certiﬁ cate, Warranty Card, with all ﬁ elds

ﬁ lled out, bearing the stamp of the trade orga-

nization and the signature of the buyer, shall

be accepted for warranty repair.

4. Warranty repair is not performed in the fol-

lowing cases:

- in the absence of a Warranty Certiﬁ cate and

a Warranty Card or their incorrect execution;

- with failure of both a rotor and a stator of the

electric engine, charring or melting of primary

winding of the welding machine transformer,

charging or starting-charging device, with in-

ternal parts melting, burn down of electronic

circuit boards;

- if a Warranty Certiﬁ cate or a Warranty Card

does not correspond to this electric machine

or to the form established by the supplier;

- upon expiration of the warranty period;

- at attempts of opening or repair of the elec-

tric machine outside the warranty workshop;

making constructive changes and lubrication

of the tool during the warranty period, as ev-

idenced, for example, by the creases on the

spline parts of the fasteners of non-rotational

parts.

- when using electric tools for production or

other purposes connected with making a prof-

it, as well as in case of malfunctions related

to instability of the power network parameters

exceeding the norms established by GOST;

- in the events of improper operation (use the

electric machine for other than intended pur-

poses, attachments to the electric machine of

attachments, accessories, etc. not provided

by the manufacturer);

- with mechanical damage to the case, pow-

er cord and in case of damages caused by

aggressive agents and high and low tempera-

tures, ingress of foreign objects in the ven-

tilation grids of the electric machine, as well

as in case of damage resulting from improper

storage (corrosion of metal parts);

- natural wear and tear on the parts of the

electric machine, as a result of long-term op-

eration (determined on the basis of the signs

of full or partial depletion of the specified

mean life, great contamination, presence of

rust outside and inside the electric machine,

waste lubricant in the gearbox);

- use of the tool the purposes for other than

speciﬁ ed in the operating instructions.

Preventive maintenance of electric machines

(cleaning, washing, lubrication, replacement

of anthers, piston and sealing rings) during

the warranty period is a paid service.

The service life of the product is 3 years. Shelf

life is 2 years. It is not recommended for oper-

ation after 2 years of storage from the date of

manufacture, which is indicated in the serial

number on the label of the instrument, without

preliminary veriﬁ cation (for the deﬁ nition of the

date of manufacture, see the User’s Manual

earlier).

The owner is notified of any possible viola-

tions of the above terms of wa rranty service

upon completion of diagnostics in the service

center.

The owner of the tool entrusts the diagnostic

procedure to be conducted in the service cen-

ter in his absence.

Do not operate the electric machine when

there are signs of excessive heat, sparking, or

noise in the gearbox. To determine the cause

of the malfunction, the buyer should contact

the warranty service center.

Malfunctions caused by late replacement of

carbon brushes of the engine are eliminated

at the expense of the buyer.

5. The warranty does not cover:

- replacement accessories (accessories and

components), for example: batteries, discs,

blades, drill bits, borers, chucks, chains,

sprockets, collet clamps, guide rails, tension

and fastening elements, trimming device

heads, base of grinding and belt sander ma-

chines, hexagonal heads, etc.,

- fast wearing parts, for example: carbon

brushes, drive belts, seals, protective covers,

guiding rollers, guides, rubber seals, bear-

ings, toothed belts and wheels, shanks, brake

belts, starter ratchets and ropes, piston rings,

etc. Their replacement during the warranty

period is a paid service;

- power cords, in case of damage to the insu-

lation, power cords are subject to mandatory

• Не допускайте попадания на аккумуля-

торный блок воды или дождя . Замы-

кание контактов аккумуляторного блока

► Не храните инструмент и аккумулятор-

ный блок в местах, где температура мо-

жет достигать или превышать 50 °C

(122 °F).

► Не бросайте аккумулятоный блок в

огонь, даже если он сильно поврежден

или полностью вышел из строя. Аккуму-

ляторный блок может взорваться под

действием огня.

► При повреждении и ненадлежащем ис-

пользовании аккумулятора может выде-

литься газ. Обеспечьте приток свежего

воздуха и при возникновении жалоб

обратитесь к врачу. Газы могут вызвать

раздражение дыхательных путей.

► Время от времени прочищайте вентиля-

ционные прорези аккумулятора мягкой,

► Заряжайте блок аккумуляторов не

Обязательно прекратите работу с

► Не вскрывайте аккумулятор, При

устройства к отправке обязательно

проконсультируйтесь со специалистом

по опасным материалам. Также

соблюдайте местные требования и

нормы. Они могут быть строже. Закрой-

те или закрепите разомкнутые кон-

такты и упакуйте аккумулятор так, что-

бы он не перемещался по упаковке.

► Выполняйте требования местного зако-

нодательства относительно утилизации

аккумуляторного блока.

Сервис

► Ремонт электроинструмента должен

выполняться только квалифици-

рованным персоналом и только с

применением оригинальных

запасных частей. Этим обеспечива-

ется безопасность электроинструмента.

Указания по технике безопасно-

сти для шлифмашин

► Используйте электроинструмент только

для сухого шлифования. Проникновение

воды в электроинструмент повышает

риск поражения электротоком.

► Следите за тем, чтобы другие лица не

подвергались опасности вследствие

разлетающихся искр. Удаляйте горючие

материалы, находящиеся поблизости.

При шлифовании металлов разлетают-

ся искры.

► Внимание: опасность возгорания! Избе-

гайте перегрева шлифуемой поверхно-

сти и шлифмашины. Перед перерывами

в работе всегда опорожняйте контей-

нер для пыли. Пыль от шлифования,

накопившаяся в пылевом мешке, ми-

крофильтре, бумажном мешке (или в

мешке-фильтре / фильтре пылесоса)

может при неблагоприятных условиях

самовозгореться, напр., от искры при

шлифовании металлов. Особенная

опасность возникает, когда пыль от

шлифования смешивается с остатками

лака, полиуретана или других химика

тов, а шлифуемая поверхность нагре-

лась от длительных работ.

► Регулярно прочищайте вентиляционные

щели электроинструмента. Вентилятор

двигателя затягивает пыль в корпус,

и большое скопление металлической

пыли может привести к электрической

опасности.

► Крепко держите электроинструмент во

время работы двумя руками и следите

за устойчивым положением тела. Двумя

руками Вы можете более надежно вести

электроинструмент.

► Выждите полной остановки электроин-

струмента и только после этого выпу-

скайте его из рук.

► Закрепляйте заготовку. Заготовка, уста-

новленная в зажимное приспособление

или в тиски, удерживается более надеж-

но, чем в Вашей руке.

► Не используйте изношенные, надорван-

ные или сильно поврежденные шлифо-

вальные круги. Поврежденные шлифо-

вальные круги могут порваться, выле-

теть и стать причиной травм.

Сборка

Предупреждение:

► Не используйте инструмент, если он не

полностью в собранном виде или если

какие-либо части отсутствуют или по-

вреждены. Использование элек-

троинструмента, который собран

неполностью или ненадлежащим об-

разом, а также если имеются

поврежденные или отсутствующие ча-

сти, может привести к серьезным трав-

мам.

► Не пытайтесь модифицировать элек-

троинструмент или использовать аксес-

суары не рекомендованные изготови-

телем для использования с этим

инструментом. Любое такое изменение

или модификация является неправиль-

ным использованием, и может привести

к опасной ситуации, что в свою очередь

может привести к серьезным травмам и

повреждениям.

► До начала работ по техобслуживанию,

смене оснастки и т. д., а так же при

транспортировке и хранении извле-

кайте аккумулятор из электроинстру-

мента. При непреднамеренном включе-

нии возникает опасность травмирова-

ния.

Извлечение и установка аккумуля-

торного блока

Нажмите кнопку отсоединения аккумуля-

торного блока(6), чтобы освободить и

сдвинуть его. Извлеките аккумулятор из

вашего инструмента.

После перезарядки вставьте его обратно

до щелчка. Простого толчка и небольшого

давления будет достаточно.

Не используйте силу, когда вставляете

аккумуляторный блок. Если аккумуля-

тор не задвигается без усилия, то его

устновка выполняется неправильно.

Удаление пыли и стружки

Пыль некоторых материалов, как напр.,

красок с содержанием свинца, некоторых

сортов древесины, минералов и металлов,

может быть вредной для здоровья.

Прикосновение к пыли и попадание пыли

в дыхательные пути может вызвать ал-

лергические реакции и/или заболевания

дыхательных путей оператора или находя-

щегося вблизи персонала.

Определенные виды пыли, напр., дуба и

бука, считаются канцерогенными, особен-

но совместно с присадками для обработки

древесины (хромат, средство для защиты

древесины).

– По возможности используйте приго-

дую для материала систему пылеудале-

ния.

– Хорошо проветривайте рабочее ме-

сто.

– Рекомендуется пользоваться респира-

торной маской с фильтром класса Р2.

Соблюдайте действующие в Вашей стране

предписания для обрабатываемых матери-

алов.

► Избегайте скопления пыли на рабо-

чем месте. Пыль может легко воспла-

меняться.

Внешняя система пылеудаления (см.

рис. C)

Вставьте адаптер пылеудаления на выду-

вной штуцер. Следите за тем, чтобы рыча-

ги фиксирования адаптера пылеудаления

были зафиксированы.

Пылесос должен быть пригоден для обра-

батываемого материала.

Применяйте специальный пылесос для

удаления особо вредных для здоровья ви-

дов пыли возбудителей рака или сухой пы-

ли.

При обработке вертикальных поверхностей

держите электроинструмент шлангом пы-

леудаления вниз.

Работа с инструментом Включе-

ние/выключение (см. рис. D)

► Убедитесь, что Вы можете приводить в

действие выключатель, не отпуская ру-

коятки.

Для включения электроинструмента на-

жмите выключатель.

Для выключения электроинструмента ото-

жмите выключатель.

Замена шлифовального листа (см. рис.

Перед установкой нового шлифовального

листа удалите грязь и пыль со шлифоваль-

ной тарелки, например, кисточкой.

Поверхность шлифовальной тарелки со-

стоит из застежки-липучки, при помощи

которой можно быстро и легко крепить

шлифовальный лист с соответствующей

основой.

Плотно прижмите шлифовальный лист к

нижней части шлифовальной тарелки.

Для обеспечения оптимального пылеу-

даления следите за тем, чтобы вырезы в

шлифовальном листе совпадали с отвер-

стиями в шлифовальной тарелке.

Выбор опорной шлифовальной тарелки

В зависимости от области применения

электроинструмент может оснащаться

шлифовальными тарелками различной

твердости( в коплектацию не входят):

– Экстра мягкая опорная шлифовальная

тарелка: для полирования и аккуратного

шлифования, включая и выпуклых поверх-

ностей.

– Мягкая опорная шлифовальная тарелка:

используется универсально для любых

шлифовальных работ.

– Твердая шлифовальная тарелка: обеспе-

чивает высокую производительность рабо-

ты при обработке плоских поверхностей.

Смена шлифовальной тарелки (см. рис.

Указание: Поврежденные шлифовальные

тарелки подлежат немедленной замене.

Снимите шлифовальный лист или полиро-

вальный инструмент. Полностью выкрутите

винт и снимите шлифовальную тарелку.

Установите новую шлифовальную тарелку

и снова затяните винт от руки.

Указание: Поводки для насадок Ø 150 м

Ø 125 разные. Насадки можно монтировать

только на соответствующие подходящие

электроинструменты.

Указание: При установке шлифовальной

тарелки следите за тем, чтобы зубья на

поводке сели в пазы на шлифовальной та-

релке.

Указание: Поврежденный держатель шли-

фовальной тарелки можно менять только в

авторизованной сервисной мастерской для

электроинструментов P.I.T.
