INSTALLATION

1. CAUTION! Heavy item, handle with care:

1.1 Install the appliance in a room which is pro-

tected from frost. If the appliance is damaged

because the safety device has been blocked, it

is not covered by guarantee.

1.2 Make sure that the wall on which the appli-

ance is mounted can support the weight of

the appliance when ﬁlled with water,

1.3 If the appliance is to be ﬁtted in a room

or location where the ambient tempera-

ture is higher than 35°C, provide sufﬁcient

ventilation.

1.4 When installed in a bathroom, install the ap-

pliance in such a way that the control equip-

ment cannot be touched by a person in the

bath or shower. If the water heater is to install

above living space, ﬁt a retaining tank with

drain to the sewer system. Place the water

heater in a place with easy access.

1.5 Secure the appliance as described in chapter

„Installation/ Installation“.

1.6 This device is intended for use at a maxi-

mum altitude of 3000m.

1.7 If PER pipes are used, the installation of a

thermostatic regulator on the output pipe of

the device is strongly recommended. It will be

set according to the performance of the mate-

rial used.

1.8 Installation of a vertical or horizontal wall

mounted device: To allow the replacement

of the heating element leave a free space of

300mm between the tube ends and the wall

or ﬁxed furniture.

1.9 Switch off the power before removing the

cover, to avoid any risk of injury or electric

shock.

1.10 The installation must be equipped, up-

stream of the appliance, with a bipolar cut-

out device (fuse, breaker switch) respecting

local regulations (30mA earth-leakage

breaker).

1.11 If the supply cord is damaged, it must be

replaced by a special cord or assembly avail-

able from the manufacturer or the after sales

service.

1.12 Mandatory installation of a safety device

in a frost free location (or any other new de-

vice which limits the tank pressure) to 0.7or

0.9MPa (7or 9bar) according to the nomi-

nal pressure, with a size of ½” or ¾“ on the

input of the water heater, respecting the local

regulations.

1.13 Operate regularly the discharge of safety

device to prevent scaling and check that it is

not blocked.

1.14 Hydraulic accessories should not be located

between the safety valve and the cold water

inlet. A pressure reducer (not supplied) is

required when the water supply pressure ex-

ceeds 0,5MPa (5bar) and will be ﬁtted on the

main supply.

1.15 Connect the safety device to an unpressur-

ised outlet pipe in a frost free location, with

a continuous slope to evacuate water during

heating up or draining the water heater.

1.16 The pipes used must support 1MPa

(10bar) and 100°C.

1.17 Always connect the earth conductor of the

cable to the earth ground wire or connect the

earth conductor to the appropriate terminal.

1.18 To drain the device: Switch off the power

and the supply of cold water, open the hot

water faucets and manipulate the safety valve.

To drain under sink water heater disconnect

the hydraulic connections and return the

device.

1.19 NOTE: For under sink models, disconnect

hydraulics and return to empty.

1.20 These devices comply with the directive

2014/30/UE according to electromagnetic

compatibility, 2014/35/UE according to low

voltage, 2011/65/UE according to ROHS direc-

tive and Commission Delegated Regulation

2013/814/UE supplementing 2009/125/EC reg-

ulation for ecodesign.

1.21 Do not dispose your water heater in the

garbage, but hand it to a place assigned for

this purpose (collection point) where it can be

recycled.

1.22 The instruction book of this product is

available by contacting the after-sales service.

- The appliance may be used by children aged8

perience and know-how, provided that they

are supervised or they have been instructed

on how to use the appliance safely and have

understood the potential risks. Children must

never play with the appliance. Children must

never clean the appliance or perform user

maintenance unless they are supervised.

- The connection to the power supply must

be in the form of a permanent connection.

Ensure the appliance can be separated from

the power supply by an isolator that discon-

nects all poles with at least 3mm contact

separation.

- Secure the appliance as described in chapter

"Installation/ Installation".

- Observe the maximum permissible pressure

(see chapter "Installation/ Speciﬁcation/ Data

table").

- The appliance is pressurised. During the heat-

up process, expansion water will drip from

the safety valve.

- Regularly activate the safety valve to prevent

it from becoming blocked, e.g. by limescale

deposits.

- Drain the appliance as described in chapter

"Installation/ Maintenance/ Draining the

appliance".

- Install a type-tested safety valve in the cold

water inlet line. Please note that, depending

on the supply pressure, you may also need a

pressure reducing valve.

- Size the drain pipe so that water can drain

off unimpeded when the safety valve is fully

opened.

2.1 Intended use

The appliance is intended for heating domestic hot water and can

supply one or more draw-off points.

The appliance is intended for domestic use. It can be used safely

by untrained persons. The appliance can also be used in non-do-

mestic environments, e.g. in small businesses, as long as it is

used in the same way.

Any other use beyond that described shall be deemed inappro-

priate. Observation of these instructions and of the instructions

for any accessories used is also part of the correct use of this

appliance.

2.2 General safety instructions

The appliance should only be operated once it is fully installed

and all safety equipment has been ﬁtted.

WARNING Burns

During operation, the tap and safety valve can reach

temperatures in excess of 60°C. There is a risk of scald-

ing at outlet temperatures in excess of 43°C.

WARNING Injury

The appliance may be used by children over 8 years of

age and persons with reduced physical, sensory or men-

tal capabilities or a lack of experience and expertise,

provided that they are supervised or they have been

instructed on how to use the appliance safely and have

understood the potential risks. Children must never play

with the appliance. Children must never clean the ap-

pliance or perform user maintenance unless they are

supervised.

Material losses

The user should protect the water lines and the safety

valve from frost.

Note

The appliance is pressurised. During the heat-up process,

expansion water will drip from the safety valve.

 If water drips after heating has ﬁnished, call a qual-

iﬁed contractor.

3. Appliance description

The sealed unvented (pressurised) appliance heats DHW using

electric heating elements and constantly maintains the water con-

tent at the pre-selected temperature.

The inner steel cylinder is enamelled and protected against cor-

rosion by an integral protective anode.

4. Settings

Note

For the PSH80-150Si appliance types, the temperature

may only be set by the qualiﬁed contractor.

The temperature is variably adjustable.

1 Temperature selector

The appliance is preset at the factory to 65°C.

- To increase the temperature, turn the temperature selector

clockwise.

- To reduce the temperature, turn the temperature selector

anti-clockwise.

As soon as the temperature in the appliance falls below the se-

lected value, it switches on automatically. The heating indicator

illuminates until reheating is complete and the selected temper-

ature has been reached again.

1 Temperature controller

The appliance is preset at the factory to 62°C. The temperature

may only be set by the qualiﬁed contractor. To do this, the tem-

perature controller inside the appliance must be turned to the

required position (position5 corresponds to approx.62°C).

4.1 Frost protection

In the frost protection position, the cylinder is protected against

frost. The safety valve and the water lines are not protected.

Material losses

If the appliance is disconnected from the power supply,

there is no frost protection.

 Drain the cylinder if there is a risk of frost (see chap-

ter "Maintenance/ Draining the appliance").

4.2 Holiday and absence

 If the appliance is not used for several days or for a longer

period of time, set it to frost protection. If there is no risk

of frost you may disconnect the appliance from the power

supply.

 Before using the appliance for the ﬁrst time, heat it up to

>60°C once.

5. Cleaning, care and maintenance

 Have the electrical safety of the appliance and the function of

the safety valve regularly checked by a qualiﬁed contractor.

 Have the protective anode initially checked by a qualiﬁed

contractor after the ﬁrst year. The qualiﬁed contractor will

then determine the intervals at which repeat checks should

be performed.

 Never use abrasive or corrosive cleaning agents. A damp

cloth is sufﬁcient for cleaning the appliance.

Scaling

Almost every type of water will deposit limescale at high temper-

atures. This settles inside the appliance and affects both perfor-

mance and service life. The heating elements should therefore be

descaled if necessary. A qualiﬁed contractor who is aware of the

local water quality will tell you when the next descaling is due.

 Check the tap regularly. Remove limescale deposits at the tap

outlets using commercially available descaling agents.

 Regularly activate the safety valve to prevent it from becom-

ing blocked, e.g. by limescale deposits.

6. Troubleshooting

Problem Cause Remedy

sioning, maintenance and repair of the appliance.

9. Preparation

9.1 Installation site

- The appliance is designed to be permanently wall mounted

to a solid surface. Ensure the wall offers adequate load bear-

ing capacity.

- There should be a suitable drain near the appliance to drain

off the expansion water.

- Install the appliance vertically, in a room free from the risk of

frost and near the draw-off point.

10. Installation

10.1 Wall mounted

Material losses

When drilling the holes, note that supply cables/water

lines and ducts may run in the installation wall.

 Mark out the holes to be drilled on the wall (see chapter

"Speciﬁcation/ Dimensions and connections").

 Drill the holes and secure the mounting bracket(s) with

screws and rawl plugs. Select ﬁxing materials in accordance

with the wall construction/condition.

 Hook the appliance with the mounting bracket onto the

screws. Observe the dry weight of the appliance (see chapter

"Speciﬁcation/ Data table"). Subject to the size of the appli-

ance, two people may be needed to mount it on the wall.

 Align the appliance vertically.

Operate the appliance only with pressure-tested taps.

 Thoroughly ﬂush out the cold water line before connecting

the appliance, so that no foreign bodies get into the water

heater or safety valve.

 Connect the hydraulic connections with ﬂat gaskets.

 Set the ﬂow rate on the straight-through shut-off valve to a

maximum of 18l/min.

10.2.1 Permissible materials

If using plastic pipework, observe the manufacturer's

data and chapter "Speciﬁcation/ Fault conditions".

Note

Do not ﬁt connections made of copper directly to the ap-

pliance. We recommend adaptors made of gunmetal or

plastic as insulators for the pipe connections.

10.3 Fitting the safety valve

Note

If the water pressure is higher than 0.5MPa, install a

pressure reducer in the "cold water inlet".

The maximum permissible pressure must not be exceeded (see

chapter "Speciﬁcation/ Data table").

 Install a type-tested safety valve in the cold water inlet line.

Please note that, depending on the supply pressure, you may

also need a pressure reducing valve.

 Size the drain so that water can drain off unimpeded when

the safety valve is fully opened.

 The safety valve drain aperture must remain open to

atmosphere.

 Do not install a shut-off valve between the appliance and the

safety valve.

10.4 Electrical connection

WARNING Electrocution

Carry out all electrical connection and installation work

in accordance with relevant regulations.

WARNING Electrocution

The connection to the power supply must be in the form

of a permanent connection. Ensure the appliance can be

separated from the power supply by an isolator that dis-

connects all poles with at least 3mm contact separation.

Ensure that the appliance is earthed.

Install a residual current device (RCD).

Observe the type plate. The speciﬁed voltage must match

the mains voltage.

Note

Fill the appliance with water prior to electrical connec-

tion. If you switch on the appliance while empty, the high

limit safety cut-out will switch it off.

PSH 30-50 Si:

The appliance is supplied with a ﬂexible, ready to connect power

cable (length = 0.95m) with wire ferrules.

If the cable is not long enough, disconnect it from the appliance

and remove. Use a suitable installation cable (3 x 1.5mm2).

When routing the new connecting cable, ensure that it is water-

proof as it passes through the existing cable entry, and is correctly

routed and connected inside the appliance.

11. Commissioning

11.1 Checks before commissioning

 Check that the cylinder is mounted vertically.

 Ensure that the power supply is disconnected.

 Check whether the water connection is correct was made

with the safety valve.

 Ensure that the temperature selector (PSH30-50Si) is turned

fully anti-clockwise.

11.2 Initial start-up

 Open the shut-off valve in the cold water inlet line.

 Open a draw-off point until the appliance has been ﬁlled

with water and the pipework is free of air.

 Adjust the ﬂow rate. Observe the maximum permissible ﬂow

rate (see chapter "Speciﬁcation/ Data table").

 Turn the temperature selector fully clockwise (maximum

temperature).

 Switch the power supply ON.

 Check the appliance function. Ensure that the temperature

controller switches off.

 Check that the safety valve is working.

11.2.1 Appliance handover

 Explain the function of the appliance and safety valve to the

user. Show the user how to operate the appliance.

 Make the user aware of potential dangers, especially the risk

of scalding.

 Hand over these instructions.

12. Appliance shutdown

If you ever want to take the appliance out of use, carry out the

following steps:

 Isolate the appliance from the power supply.

 Close the shut-off valve in the cold water inlet line.

 Drain the appliance (see chapter "Installation/ Maintenance/

Draining the appliance").

12.1 Recommissioning

See chapter "Initial start-up".

13. Troubleshooting

Note

At temperatures below -15°C the high limit safety cut-out

may respond. The appliance may be subjected to these

temperatures during storage or transport.

Fault Cause Remedy

The water does not heat

up and the heating indi-

cator does not illuminate.

14. Maintenance

WARNING Electrocution

Carry out all electrical connection and installation work

in accordance with relevant regulations.

Before any work on the appliance, disconnect all poles

of the appliance from the power supply.

14.1 Checking the safety valve

 Check the safety valve regularly.

14.2 Draining the appliance

WARNING Burns

Hot water may escape during draining.

To drain the appliance for maintenance work or if there is a risk

of frost, proceed as follows:

 Close the shut-off valve in the cold water inlet line.

 Open the DHW valves of all draw-off points until the appli-

ance is fully drained.

 Drain any residual water from the safety valve.

14.3 Checking/replacing the protective anode

 Check the protective anode after the ﬁrst year of use and re-

place if necessary.

 Next, decide the time intervals at which further checks

should be carried out.

14.4 Descaling

 Remove loose scale deposits from the water heater.

 Descale the inner cylinder with commercially available des-

caling agents if necessary.

 Descale the ﬂange only after removal.

 Never treat the cylinder surface or the protective anode with

descaling agents.

- Het toestel kan door kinderen vanaf 8jaar,

alsmede door personen met fysieke, zintuig-

lijke of geestelijke beperkingen of met een ge-

brek aan ervaring en kennis gebruikt worden,

wanneer er toezicht op hen gehouden wordt,

of wanneer ze met betrekking tot het veilige

gebruik van het toestel getraind zijn en de ge-

varen die daaruit ontstaan, begrepen hebben.

Kinderen mogen niet met het toestel spelen.

Kinderen mogen zonder toezicht het toestel

niet reinigen noch gebruikersonderhoudsta-

ken uitvoeren.

- Aansluiting op het stroomnet is alleen als

vaste aansluiting toegestaan. Het toestel moet

op alle polen met een afstand van minstens

3mm van de aansluiting van de netvoeding

kunnen worden losgekoppeld.

- Monteer het toestel zoals beschreven in het

hoofdstuk "Installatie/ Montage".

- Neem de maximaal toegelaten druk in acht

(zie hoofdstuk "Installatie/ Technische gege-

vens/ Gegevenstabel").

- Het toestel staat onder druk. Tijdens ver-

warming druppelt expansiewater uit het

veiligheidsventiel.

- Stel het veiligheidsventiel regelmatig in wer-

king, zodat het niet gaat blokkeren door bijv.

kalkafzettingen.

- Tap het toestel af zoals beschreven in het

hoofdstuk "Installatie/ Onderhoud/ Het toe-

stel aftappen".

- Monteer een type gekeurd veiligheidsventiel

in de koudwater toevoerleiding. Let erop dat,

afhankelijk van de voedingsdruk, eventueel

ook een drukreduceerventiel moet worden

geplaatst.

- Dimensioneer de afvoerleiding zodanig dat

het water bij volledig geopend veiligheidsven-

tiel ongehinderd afgevoerd kan worden.

2. Veiligheid

2.1 Reglementair gebruik

Het toestel is bestemd voor de opwarming van drinkwater en kan

één of meerdere tappunten voeden.

Het toestel is bestemd voor gebruik in een huishoudelijke omge-

ving. Het kan op een veilige manier bediend worden door onge-

schoolde personen. Het toestel kan ook buiten het huishouden

gebruikt worden, bijv. in een klein bedrijf, voor zover het op de-

zelfde wijze gebruikt wordt.

Elk ander gebruik dat verder gaat dan wat hier wordt omschreven,

geldt als niet-reglementair. Onder reglementair gebruik valt ook

het in acht nemen van deze handleiding evenals de handleidingen

voor het gebruikte toebehoren.

2.2 Algemene veiligheidsaanwijzingen

Gebruik het toestel enkel als het volledig geïnstalleerd is en als

alle veiligheidsvoorzieningen aangebracht zijn.

WAARSCHUWING verbranding

De kraan en het veiligheidsventiel kunnen tijdens de

werking een temperatuur van meer dan 60 °C aanne-

men. Bij uitlooptemperaturen van meer dan 43°C bestaat

gevaar voor brandwonden.

WAARSCHUWING letsel

Het toestel kan door kinderen vanaf 8jaar, alsook door

personen met fysieke, zintuiglijke of geestelijke beper-

kingen of met een gebrek aan ervaring en kennis ge-

bruikt worden op voorwaarde dat er iemand toezicht

houdt, of dat ze onderricht zijn hoe ze het toestel veilig

moeten gebruiken en begrijpen welke gevaren hiermee

gepaard gaan. Kinderen mogen niet met het toestel

spelen. Kinderen mogen zonder toezicht het toestel niet

reinigen noch gebruikersonderhoudstaken uitvoeren.

Materiële schade

De waterleidingen en het veiligheidsventiel moeten door

de gebruiker tegen vorst beschermd worden.

Aanwijzing

Het toestel staat onder druk. Tijdens verwarming drup-

pelt expansiewater uit het veiligheidsventiel.

 Waarschuw een installateur, wanneer na het einde

van de opwarming nog water druppelt.

2.3 Keurmerk

Zie het typeplaatje op het toestel.

3. Toestelbeschrijving

Het gesloten (drukvaste) toestel warmt drinkwater op met behulp

van elektrische verwarmingselementen en houdt het water conti-

nu op de vooraf ingestelde temperatuur.

Het stalen binnenreservoir is geëmailleerd en wordt door een

ingebouwde veiligheidsanode tegen corrosie beschermd.

4. Instellingen

Aanwijzing

Bij toesteltypes PSH80-150Si mag alleen de installateur

de temperatuur instellen.

Het is mogelijk de temperatuur traploos in te stellen.

1 Temperatuurinstelknop

Het toestel is af fabriek vooraf ingesteld op 65°C.

- Draai de temperatuurinstelknop met de wijzers van de klok

mee om de temperatuur te verhogen.

- Draai de temperatuurinstelknop tegen de wijzers van de klok

in om de temperatuur te verlagen.

Het toestel wordt automatisch ingeschakeld, zodra de temperatuur

in het toestel onder de ingestelde waarde daalt. Het verwarmings-

lampje brandt tot de naverwarming afgesloten is en de ingestelde

temperatuur weer bereikt is.

1 Thermostaat

Het toestel is af fabriek vooraf ingesteld op 62°C. De temperatuur

mag enkel door een installateur ingesteld worden. Daarvoor moet

de thermostaat die zich in het toestel bevindt, naar de gewenste

stand worden gedraaid (positie5 komt overeen met ca.62°C).

4.1 Vorstbescherming

In de vorstbeschermingsstand wordt de boiler beschermd tegen

vorst. Het veiligheidsventiel en de waterleidingen zijn niet be-

schermd.

Materiële schade

Wanneer het toestel van het stroomnet gescheiden is,

bestaat er geen vorstbescherming.

 Tap de boiler af bij vorstgevaar (zie hoofdstuk "On-

derhoud/ Toestel aftappen").

4.2 Vakantie en afwezigheid

 Wanneer het toestel gedurende meerdere dagen of langer

niet wordt gebruikt, stelt u dit in op vorstbescherming. Wan-

neer er geen vorstgevaar bestaat, kunt u het toestel ook los-

koppelen van het stroomnet.

 Warm het toestel voor het eerste gebruik één keer tot > 60°C

op.

5. Reiniging, verzorging en onderhoud

 Laat de elektrische veiligheid van het toestel en de werking

van het veiligheidsventiel periodiek door een installateur

controleren.

 Laat de veiligheidsanode voor het eerst na één jaar door een

installateur controleren. De installateur bepaalt vervolgens

de controle-intervallen voor de toekomst.

 Gebruik geen schurende reinigingsmiddelen of reinigings-

middelen met oplosmiddelen. Een vochtige doek volstaat om

het toestel te onderhouden en te reinigen.

Kalkaanslag

Bijna al het water geeft kalk af bij hoge temperaturen. De kalk

slaat neer in het toestel en beïnvloedt de werking en de levensduur

van het toestel. De verwarmingselementen moeten daarom, indien

nodig, ontkalkt worden. De installateur, die op de hoogte is van

de plaatselijke waterkwaliteit, deelt u mee wanneer de volgende

ontkalking moet worden uitgevoerd.

 Controleer de kraan op regelmatige tijdstippen. Verwijder

kalkafzettingen op de kraanuitlopen met in de handel ver-

krijgbare ontkalkingsmiddelen.

 Stel het veiligheidsventiel regelmatig in werking, zodat het

niet gaat blokkeren door bijv. kalkafzettingen.

6. Problemen verhelpen

7. Veiligheid

Installatie, ingebruikname, onderhoud en reparatie van het toestel

mogen alleen door een gekwaliﬁceerde installateur uitgevoerd

worden.

tend bij gebruik van originele onderdelen en reserveonderdelen

voor het toestel.

9. Voorbereidingen

9.1 Montageplaats

- Het toestel is voorzien voor vaste wandmontage op een ge-

sloten oppervlak. Zorg ervoor dat de wand voldoende draag-

vermogen heeft.

- Voor het afvoeren van het expansiewater is een passende

afvoer in de buurt van het toestel vereist.

- Monteer het toestel verticaal in een vorstvrije ruimte en in de

buurt van het tappunt.

10. Montage

10.1 Wandmontage

Materiële schade

Let bij het aanbrengen van de boorgaten op de voedings-

leidingen en -kanalen die in de montagewand lopen.

 Breng de afmetingen voor de boorgaten over op de wand

(zie hoofdstuk "Technische gegevens/ Afmetingen en

aansluitingen").

 Boor de gaten en bevestig de ophangbeugel(s) met schroe-

ven en pluggen. Kies bevestigingsmateriaal dat past bij de

sterkte van de wand.

 Hang het toestel met de ophangbeugel aan de schroeven.

Let daarbij op het leeg gewicht van het toestel (zie hoofdstuk

"Technische gegevens/ Gegevenstabel"). Afhankelijk van het

formaat van het toestel dient het toestel door twee personen

opgehangen te worden.

 Lijn het toestel verticaal uit.

10.2 Wateraansluiting

Voer alle werkzaamheden voor wateraansluiting en in-

stallatie uit conform de voorschriften.

Het toestel dient met drukkranen gebruikt te worden.

 Spoel de koudwaterleiding grondig door vóór aansluiting van

het toestel op de waterleiding, zodat er geen vreemde voor-

werpen in de boiler of het veiligheidsventiel terecht kunnen

komen.

 Sluit de hydraulische aansluitingen met een vlakke afdichting

aan.

 Stel het doorstroomvolume op de doorgangsafsluitklep in op

max. 18l/min.

10.2.1 Toegelaten materialen

Materiële schade

Neem de instructies van de fabrikant en hoofdstuk "Tech-

nische gegevens/ Storingssituaties" in acht bij het ge-

bruik van kunststofbuizen.

Aanwijzing

Installeer aansluitingen van koper niet direct op het toe-

stel. Als isolatiestukken voor de buisaansluitingen advise-

ren wij overgangsstukken van rood messing of kunststof.

Koudwaterleiding

Als materialen zijn toegestaan:

- Thermisch verzinkt staal

- Roestvast staal

- Koper

- Kunststof

Warmwaterleiding

Als materialen zijn toegestaan:

- Roestvast staal

- Koper

10.3 Veiligheidsventiel monteren

Aanwijzing

Als de waterdruk hoger is dan 0,5MPa, moet in de "Koud-

watertoevoer" een reduceerventiel worden ingebouwd.

De maximaal toegelaten druk mag niet worden overschreden (zie

hoofdstuk "Technische gegevens/ Gegevenstabel").

 Monteer een type gekeurd veiligheidsventiel in de koudwater

toevoerleiding. Let erop dat, afhankelijk van de voedings-

druk, eventueel ook een drukreduceerventiel moet worden

geplaatst.

 Dimensioneer de afvoerleiding op een wijze dat het water bij

volledig geopend veiligheidsventiel ongehinderd afgevoerd

kan worden.

 De uitloopopening van het veiligheidsventiel moet geopend

blijven naar de atmosfeer.

 Installeer geen afsluiter tussen het toestel en het

veiligheidsventiel.
